I ordered P90X shortly after watching the commercial. I was astounded by the results these people had. Having been in and out of the gym for several years, I never experienced quite the results I really wanted. P90X delivers those results.
About two weeks into the P90X program, I arrived at a very clear picture of what it really meant to participate in the P90X Lifestyle. P90X is clearly not just another program or another crash course in quick results diet and exercise. It really gave me the tools of a new lifestyle. This was the most awakening experience of my life. The struggle of being perfectly consistent-- 'eat all the right stuff', 'show-up for all the workouts', and 'give all the intensity you have', suddenly had a perfect fit in my life. Work may send me away from home for a few days. That’s ok. I may work an extra long day. Great. Whatever interrupted the plan suddenly became manageable. I realized that this was so much more that just a workout routine and eating plan. It was a lifestyle plan. I have choices every day. What lifestyle am I going to live? Am I going to do the best with what I have and forget the rest? YES!
I finished my first round of P90X in 110 days. This extended length fit my new lifestyle. I needed an extra week in the Phase I part of the schedule. Great. Done. I had some life interruptions during which I knew that a week here and there needed repeating/reinforcing. Great.
What happened? I have great results to show for the change in lifestyle. It is much less about finishing round 1 in 110 days and not 90. It is about the fact that my new way of living life is bringing these results-- Lost 4% of body fat, Lost 10 lbs, Lost 4.25 inches in the waist. I look better. I feel better. People have noticed.
This transformation is both inside and out. I think different. I look better. I feel better.
This lifestyle included joining the Agent X teams and thread. I received much needed support and guidance from others in this journey. WOWY became my new 'gym'. I know faces when I show-up. These are some of the very same people the offer thoughts and encouragement on the threads. May pantry was cleaned out. The nutrition guide helped me straighten my eating habits. I chose to supplement my protein needs with some additional Whey protein, Creatine, and Arginine/L-Arginine. It seems so much less about the gritty details and more about giving my body the good clean lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables that it needs. The lifestyle is simple. Eat clean, supplement where you need with protein shakes/bars, and workout regularly. All doable, even with a busy schedule. I have the results to prove it.
I will still continue on this lifestyle journey. I am still moving toward that six- pack that I have always wanted. The P90X lifestyle has shown me a stronger looking chest and arms, my new 2-pack of upper abs, ripped ribs, and just overall better body.
Lifestyle Update 05-01-07
This month was largely a recovery cycle. Between some dedicated recovery time, 2 weddings, and a bad chest cold... it was clearly not the best of times to workout. Life Happens! I worked out as I could. I chose to eat well. I still managed to loose a little more bodyfat this month!
