Where do I even begin? Let's just say that I've struggled with being overweight for the past 18 years of my life. By the time my freshman year in college rolled around, I was able to shed nearly 50 lbs. through at-home workouts and the South Beach Diet. While I was able to maintain a "skinny" build throughout my 4 years during my undergrad, I struggled in 2008 with maintaining my weight and eating a healthy diet. (Last year in the beginning of 2008 alone, I gained nearly 15-20 lbs. due to my poor eating habits!). From juggling my busy work and schedule, you could imagine how little time I had to eat clean and workout. Eventually summer of '08 rolled around, I was compelled to work out regularly and really focus on improving my diet. I was able to do this, getting leaner more than ever before while building lean muscle mass over a 6-month period. Like your typical gym workouts, I hit my plateau where I was no longer making any more gains. I was literally doing the same routine 4 times a week and felt like I wasn't achieving anything significant. I knew I had to do something fresh, something different, with the new year right around the corner.

Fast-forward to 2009... P90X came into the picture. My partner and I were intrigued with the buzz generated online and the infomercials about this program that focused on the whole concept of "muscle confusion". I've heard a lot about it, but it never really crossed my mind until people start talking. I figured there was nothing to lose. And better yet, it was an opportunity to really get my partner back on a routine... one that he and I can do together. And basically from there, the rest was history.

Putting it all into perspective, the P90X program has been incredible. It's challenged me and has taken my fitness to the next-level. From my love/hate relationship with plyometrics to becoming a yoga enthusiast, I've been able to transcend toward a new level of fitness. Not only that, but I've become so nutrition-conscious that I've been able to drop my body fat significantly.

I may not be an expert, but rest assured, I am here to provide you with some of my own personal insight from my experiences with Beachbody's advanced workouts including P90X and ChaLEAN Extreme.
