Carlisle, PA Trying to get back in shape after a 4 year slip :-( ... I divorced my ex-husband in 1999, and lost 50 pounds (not a good weight loss plan!) ... During this time I walked/jogged 5 miles 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year (for a total of 3.5 years)! For the next 1.5 years I dated a man who loved to eat, and I found myself joining him in big, elaborate dinners. As a result, I put back on 30 of those Trying to get back in shape after a 4 year slip :-( ... I divorced my ex-husband in 1999, and lost 50 pounds (not a good weight loss plan!) ... During this time I walked/jogged 5 miles 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year (for a total of 3.5 years)! For the next 1.5 years I dated a man who loved to eat, and I found myself joining him in big, elaborate dinners. As a result, I put back on 30 of those pounds without fully realizing what I was doing to myself. After that relationship ended, I tried to get back into my fitness routine, however, at the same time I landed a first time teaching job at one of the South Central PA high schools (where I was left with no lesson plans, tests, etc.) At school, I put in many long hours doing all of this myself, while also carrying 3 graduate level classes each semester). My children (then 13 & 10) were wonderful, helping out around the house, unfortunately, all they knew how to cook was mac & cheese, and dial for either pizza or chinese. The exercise & eating habits counteracted each other. Three years ago, the night after Christmas, I had my first date with Bob. Five months later he proposed, 6 months later we were married. 2 weeks later he & I sold each of our houses, bought a new house together-and moved in. 2 weeks later was Christmas (and we still hadn't had the first anniversary of our first date!) The next 2 years flew by, getting to know how to live with each other, with step-children, etc. We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on 12/4/06, hubby and I have 6 kids between us (2nd marriage for both of us!) ... Oh, time is flying by so fast! ... can't believe MY oldest (daughter) will turn 18 & graduate from HS this spring! I just turned 43 ... and decided that its high time I take back my life! ... so I ordered TJ - the complete 7 disk/set package. I started with the disks January 2nd!
UPDATE: It's 2 1/2 years later. I had lost about 20 lbs, then I started back to school ... this time going for my 2nd Master's Degree. The weight started to creep back on, as any free time I had, was now spent sitting & studying. This past February, I discovered cyst on my Thyroid, treatment for which led to find that I have a HypoThyroid. I had put on 20 pounds in 6 months. I wanted to get back on track-weight wise, but with little to no time, I didn't think it would be possible. Then I saw an infomercial for Tony Horton's 10-minute Trainer. I began doing it, and only 5 days into the program I had lost 5 pounds...then I broke my foot. While I am still recovering from that (a full month later, they're talking about putting me in a cast before I head back to my teaching school year), I will be doing a modified version of the 10-minute Trainer. I'm just going to have to wait and see how that goes...
