I have been into fitness for a very long time, but I never got my body to the point that had made me content. Also being from Wisconsin, I was one of the many that had fallen victim to the up and down weight gain and weight loss. With our long winters, many people (myself included)would pack on the pounds, then I would scramble to fight and loss it before our very short swim suit season. But as the years went on, I would put on more weight during the winter and lose less during the summer months.

Another factor that had made it very difficult for me to lose weight through out the years is the fact that I have Fibro Myalgia. If you are not familiar with the syndrome, it is much like Rumatoid Arthrytis or Cronic Fatigue Syndrome. The best way for me to describe it is, imagine having Flu like symptoms all the time, or having sharp stabbing or burning pains in many, if not all of your body's pressure points. Also it can (as in my case) trigger a lot of anxiety or panic attacks.

I am married with 3 children and ever since we moved to Florida, I have been very active and doing something outdoors daily, but that has proven to not be enough. I currently weigh 207 lbs. with a fairly healthy 15% body fat, but my abs have never been really visible and my love handles have never diminished. After ordering P90X, I quickly realized that I was starving myself taking in only around 1800 calories when I should be taking in at the very least 3000 calories for my body type and activity level. At times it seems like so much food but I can feel the difference in my energy level.

I decided to join this site for accountability and support from fellow P90Xers.
