I have been slim or skinny for most of my life. When I went off to college I gained around 15-20 lbs within the 2 years I was in school. I went to a culinary school, so we ate what we made and then some. Once I graduated I went to work in the industry and tried to get to the gym in the morning before my evening shift started. I only accomplished this for maybe a month. I enjoyed the gym but wasn't sure exactly what to do while I was there, and then just didn't have the extra time to get there. After working as a Pastry Cook for a prestigous hotel chain I decided the Culinary life was not for me. Went through a few different jobs, happened to find my husband at one of them. Fitness was not tops on my list.

Slowly as the years went on I continued to pick up weight. I was up to 140 when I got pregnant. During my preganancy I shot up to 180. Once my son was born I had dropped down to 175. It was at this point I decided I wanted to do something about my weight. I tried a few different things. I purchased a cheap elliptical to use and didn't stick with it. I did Windsor Pilates and loved it, but didn't see very much progress with my body. I tried Tae Bo, but to be honest it was too hard. Then early in 2008 I was introduced to a new way of eating removing high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils & enriched flours from my diet. This diet change in itself helped me lose weight while I continued the pilates. I had gotten myself down to 150 lbs.

Then later in 2008 I was introduced to P90x. I didn't do the 90 day program. I just supplemented my workouts here and there with one of the P90x dvds. In 2009 I had gotten down to 140 lbs and decided if I want to get myself down into the 120's I would have to commit to an everyday workout. So I purchased the 10-Minute Trainer Program. I went through this program 4 months in a row. Then started picking back up with the P90x dvds, tried Hip Hop Abs a few times and did a lot of speed walking.

Early in 2010 I saw the infomercial for Insanity. I decided I wanted to see that transformation that the program boasted. My first round of Insanity was crazy hard and painful. No doubt their were multiple days that I didn't want to keep going, but everytime I completed a workout I was amazed. I completed something that I never thought I could. I had to hit pause here and their while working out to let my heart rate drop. I wasn't able to keep up with the people on the dvd, but I was still doing it and I was keeping good form. I had to skip a couple days due to pulling muscles that didn't recover fast enough, but I would go back after a day of rest. I didn't give up. After that first round I gave my body a break and did another month of 10-Minute Trainer. Once I gave myself that break I jumped back into Insanity. My 2nd round I still had to take it slower than the people on the dvd during some exercises. I still had to pause the dvd and let my heart rate go down, but I really started seeing some improvement in my body and heart rate. It started to not be as hard and as painful. I only missed 2 workouts within the 67 days of the program. By the end of that round of Insanity I was not pressing pause to let my heart rate drop on most days. I still had to move slower on somedays. Still needed more recovery time on somedays, but most days I was keeping up. I had gotten myself down to 124 lbs.

After Insanity I went on to do RevAbs. It was completely different from Insanity and difficult in its own way. I didn't lose much weight with the RevAbs program, but really improved my muscle tone. The best thing about the RevAbs program is learning how to breathe properly through my workouts. Since RevAbs I have utilized the proper breathing in all my workouts.

After RevAbs I went on to do Chalene Extreme. It is also a completely different program. I created muscle definition I have never had my entire life. I am now able to do pushups with proper form and going chest to the floor and back up. Plus I got down to my goal weight of 118lbs. I havn't seen that weight since high school, but the difference is I have muscle. Muscle that I have never had before. I do love Chalene Extreme.

Currently I am doing Brazil Butt Lift. In all honesty it is hard. Talk about making your butt hurt and your abs. I really am enjoying BBL. My behind has been one area where I have not seen the changes I wanted to have happen. Now I have no doubt that those changes will come from my efforts. Plus Brazil Butt Lift has one of the most difficult ab exercises I have ever worked through.

I don't know what is in store for me next. I do like going back to previous programs, but doing something new gives me a different way to work my body. Every program seems to be wonderful in its own way.
