I entered college, and my activity level dropped drastically. I gained the
famed "Freshman 15" and then some. I developed very bad eating habits,
and watched as that long and lean dancers body wilted away. I would vow to
eat healthier and workout more only to find a couple of weeks later those
resolutions fell by the wayside. I had never felt so horrible. About two years
ago I had made a vow to get my life back together and to keep at it. Quitting
was not an option. I was hitting the gym 3-4 days a week doing spinning,
step, and weights. I had begun dieting, and had even tried several dietary
supplements. I was a little more toned than before, but that scale just was not
budging. I was always tired, had no motivation, so I discussed this with my
PCP who had my thyroid tested. BAM! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism,
or under active thyroid. Immediately it all made sense, the excessive weight
gain, lack of motivation. It was like the rain stopped and the clouds cleared
to reveal a beautiful rainbow. Now I knew what I was up against. But going to
the gym just wasn't worth the money to me. So I stopped going...
At my wits end, unhappy with my appearance, and so tired of feeling less
than secure about my body, one morning I was watching tv and the
commerical for ChaLEAN Extreme came on. It looked like so much fun, and I knew it
was just something I had to try.
