My name is Ben Haney and I live in Lincoln, Nebraska with my beautiful, amazing wife Jen and our son Andrew who was born in May of 08. We are both teachers and and enjoy living an active healthy life. I work out 6 days a week (to Beachbody Routines...of course) and play as much golf as I can. I want to lead my life by example. As a male teacher I know I'm a role model, especially to many of

My story begins in a college health class where I had to get my body fat measured. I always thought I was a single digit guy because I had always worked out and been involved in sports. You can imagine the shot to my ego when I found out it was at 18%. I felt dejected because all the work I had put in seemed like it was for nothing. I knew I needed to make my work out and diet more efficient. It wasn't more than a day later I saw a commercial for Power 90. I'm a self proclaimed infomercial junky and ordered it right away. When I got the tapes and began doing them I knew this program was different. I loved the fact it was a total body workout. I never worked up a sweat or lost my breath lifting weights before. Tony really challenged me to push myself and do my best. I was activating muscles I had never used before. When I paired the weight work with cardio the pounds melted off, but it was the nutrition plan that really made the difference. I had always thought fats and carbs were bad, so I tried to avoid them as much as possible. The BB plan taught me to balance my diet and that it's o.k. to have the right kinds of fats and carbs. I went from 18% body fat down to 9% in 90 days. I was blown away by my transformation. I was finally the single digit guy I always thought I was.

Fast forward 3 years. I had gotten married and gotten away from BB and the lessons I had learned. I also decided I wanted to get the bulky look. I joined a gym and began lifting heavy and often. I also started eating anything I could get my hands on. My plan worked all right. I added size, but it was not in the places I wanted it. My body fat had ballooned up to 14% and I had gained 20lbs. I felt disgusted with myself. I have always prided myself in being a person who is always moving forward and bettering myself. For the first time in my life I felt like I had taken a step back. About this same time my dad had emergency heart bypass surgery. Thankfully he recovered, but the reason for the surgery was due to his poor diet. He and I ate basically the same things, I just worked out more. It was a real wake up call for both of us. We were talking about what we're going to do differently and he reminded me of Power 90 and the success I had with that. I actually ended up giving the tapes to him, but that left me with nothing to do. I went back to Beachbody to find the solution to my problem. I was drawn right away to P90X. I read everything on the website and watched all the "Making of" movies. I knew this was just the program I needed. When I got the DVD's and nutritional guide I got started right away. I was so excited to do the first day of chest and back I lost it...Literally. It was another shot to my ego and it wasn't going to be the last. I was blown away by the entire program. I was doing moves I'd never seen before and I had muscles firing in places I didn't know muscles existed. I also learned so much from the nutritional guide. I am a very picky eater (to my wife's disgust) so I appreciated the grocery list showing healthy foods I could enjoy while I made the meals in the guide my own. The flexibility of the program is one of its best benefits. I can do so many combinations and variations of moves it's impossible to get bored. By the end of the first 90 days I was shredded. My body fat was again in single digits and I lost all the weight I gained plus a little more.

I am on my 6th round of P90X and still getting results. I still suck at yoga, but keep on pushing play. In between rounds I go back to my gym to confuse my muscle even more, but I quickly realize how much more effective a BB routine is when compared to a traditional gym workout.

I want to thank Beachbody and all its dedicated employees who do what they set out to do. You are truly changing lives across the county. I know as long as you're there to push, encourage, and motivate me I will continue to reach my fitness goals.

Thanks for all you do!
Ben Haney
