Wimberley, TX How can say what was the last straw? When did I finally just say, "this is enough! I'm tired of this!" I just remember watching late night TV in summer 2004, drinking a glass of wine and flipping channels. I saw an infomercial about Slim in 6 and was intrigued about the TV offer. Not intrigued because of the product or the claimed results, although I must say I was a little bit How can say what was the last straw? When did I finally just say, "this is enough! I'm tired of this!" I just remember watching late night TV in summer 2004, drinking a glass of wine and flipping channels. I saw an infomercial about Slim in 6 and was intrigued about the TV offer. Not intrigued because of the product or the claimed results, although I must say I was a little bit interested in that. I was intrigued to find out whether I could call the next day instead of the next 15 minutes and still get the same offer. When I checked out the BB website the next day, the fitness solution finder caught my eye. When I took the quiz, Power 90 was suggested. I ordered it. I read through some of the testimonials and decided right then that I would not be one of those folks who ordered the product and then threw the DVDs in the corner for a few months. If I was going to order it, then I was going to give it a try.
So, that's what I did. I started using the DVD the day after I received it. Took my photos -- a humbling experience to say the least. I had never been this heavy before. When I quit smoking the year before I had put on even more weight. I was determined to take it off again using exercise and not just some diet program.
I faithfully worked out every single one of the 90 days, even when I was on vacation. Even when I worked 18 hour days during the summer music camps. Even when I traveled. Even when I had to stay in someone else's home. Even when I had to get up at 4 am to complete the workout.
I did not really watch what I ate. I just made myself aware of what I was eating. I did commit to cutting out all fast food completely, and I have stuck to that commitment since I started the BB programs. I made progress -- maybe not as much as I expected, but then I hadn't really been following a food regimen. Still, I felt better from the first week on. And I lost weight and lots of inches! I started thinking of the possibilities: what next? I became intrigued with the P90X program.
I started P90X the day after I completed P90. I followed the food program completely and cut out all sugar for the entire 90 days -- even though this spanned Thanksgiving and Xmas. I lost even more weight and inches. The picture you see above was the end of the P90X program.
I completed Slim in 6 next, losing an additional 7 pounds but no inches. That's OK, because people are commenting daily about how skinny I'm getting. So, something is still working. I've added running into my weekly program as well.
I'm about to start another BB program, and then another, and then another. I plan to do the X program again next fall. I want to cycle through P90 again; can't have too much Tony!
The best part for me about this entire Beachbody journey isn't just what it's done for me, although that's really terrific! It's what it is doing for the people around me. As I succeeded in my own efforts, folks took notice and started asking me about my program. I just gave them the address of my Beachbody home page and told them to check out the day 1 and day 180 pictures. They did, and then they ordered the program for themselves! And I've found out that several of my co-workers -- former Beachbody users -- were motivated to push play once again.
The very best part though was my sister. I sent her Power 90 for Xmas, and she loves it! Her husband has joined her as well. Now she's making plans to join the P90X group too. How cool is that?
Thanks, Tony and all the rest of the Beachbody gang. Customer service is terrific -- great folks to chat with. The message boards have been a blast, and I've met some wonderful folks along the way. And the supplements and other BB products are just fantastic! Love that recovery drink!
This is more than a fitness program ("it's not some silly little class," as Tony says). It's a lifestyle. It's a terrific lifestyle. It's a club too, a big family. And that's something I never got from a silly little class.
I've seen the infomercials again, but this time it was early in the morning right after completing one of my workouts. I think back to the first infomercial I saw in the middle of the night last summer a year ago and the unhealthy lifestyle I was engaged in at the time. How things have changed now! Now I'm actually working out during the infomercials and living an active life with more vitality, energy, and commitment.
I have learned a lot about myself on this journey. I have applied all that I have learned about attitude and "bringing it" to my life's work -- teaching. I think about my life now like I think about my DVD/VCR. I don't hit the pause button too many times. Now I just keep pushing play and bringing it and living it!
Thanks, BB! You helped me to decide, commit, and succeed! Keep pushing play!

The results I have recorded reflect my experience with two of the Beachbody programs. I began Power 90 on 7/16/04 and completed it 10/14/04. I lost 14 pounds and 19.5 inches, without actually doing anything specific with my diet except being aware of it and trying to do better. I started P90X on 10/16/04 and finished it on 1/13/05. On P90X I lost an additional 15 pounds and 14 inches, watching my diet much more closely and carefully. I started Slim in 6 series on 1/15/05, and moved up to Burn it Up within 3 days because of my ultimate fitness level after completing the X routine. I finished Slim in 6 on 2/24/05, and lost another 7 lbs (total now is 36 lbs with Beachbody products). My start picture was taken on 7/16/04, on my first day of Power 90. Since then I have completed P90 and the P90X routine. My "current" photo was taken on day 90 of P90X (1/14/05). I started Slim in 6 series the next day. I will update my "current" photo periodically as I complete various BB programs.
