Transformation story

My journey began in October 1998. I'd just been hired as a Clerk/Carrier with the
Post Office and I was ready to begin my career as a Postal employee.

My journey began in October 1998. I'd just been hired as a Clerk/Carrier with the
Post Office and I was ready to begin my career as a Postal employee.

There was one problem though,
before my Postal career I sustained several injuries to my feet, knees, and ankles as a soldier in the US Army.

The Post Office I was assigned to had all walking routes so as the
months rolled along my previous injuries began to resurface in a painful way!

In order to continue working I decided to have bilateral foot surgery. However instead of correcting my problems the surgery created a whole new one.

The surgeon mistakenly cut into a nerve in my left foot which was followed by years of excruciating foot pain! My physical health, emotional stability, and sense of overall Well Being deteriorated.

Prior to the surgery I
maintained a fairly active lifestyle exercising, bike riding, swimming, and the like but afterwards depression set in and I stopped being active. Food became my pacifer.

Well as you can probably imagine eating more comfort foods than exercising produced a lot more of me than I was proud to face in the mirror!

Then one day I saw a Beachbody commercial advertising P90X. I decided then and there to order it and reclaim my life. And I've done just that!

Since joining Team Beachbody in November 2005 I've permanently transformed my thinking about living healthier. I am now more accountable for everything I eat and drink. I also consider how I can work exercise to my everyday activities.

I have a better awareness about making informed choices at restaurants or while eating out; which can be very costly calorie-wise.

I've also become more in touch with the signals my body's telling me which allows me to manage chronic pain. Now the pain from my
previous surgery is more easily managed!

My Mantra has been to strengthen the areas around my injury so that I'll have a healthier body to carry it along. And folks it's working! Dropping the extra weight, and building up my body in other areas has made dealing with my foot injury a lot easier!

There are so many other positive things that are becoming in my life
because of my decision to live a healthy lifestyle. I now encourage YOU to discover your own reasons to become the best You you can be! The pay-off is tremendous! Thanks for listening and welcome to the team! Coach blakeo
