I’ve struggled with whether I should share this, but if I can help just one person make the right decision then I want to do that! I don’t want anyone to make the mistake I did!!! I now realize it was a mistake with all the health issues I'm suffering through.

I’ve struggled with whether I should share this, but if I can help just one person make the right decision then I want to do that! I don’t want anyone to make the mistake I did!!! I now realize it was a mistake with all the health issues I'm suffering through.
When I was a kid, me and my sisters were never really over weight...my mom and my grandmother were however, so every morning (or it felt like that at least) when we got up they would weigh us and then say "you're getting fat, go run around the block" and when we got back , they would weigh us again. Eventually we all got complexes and eating disorders. We'd starve ourselves and over exercise. My mom would treat us with food. By high school I was super thin and working out every day, but I ate very little. I can't even tell you how many times I passed out. Then I went into the military where this was more pressure to keep my weight down. I had my first baby and gained 63 lbs. Hey, freedom to eat AND I was eating for 2! That weight was so hard to lose, and of course I didn't do it correctly so I gained it all back, and then some. So I started looking into the correct way to lose weight and eat healthy and figured it out, or so I thought. But I was living on a 1200 calorie a day diet and doing pretty much the same workout every day. When I had my second daughter I only gained 12 lbs and walked 4 miles a day through my whole pregnancy. My marriage started falling apart shortly after that though and to compensate I did what I learned to do as a kid….medicate with food. I gained SO much weight. I was 275 lbs by the time my divorce was final and I didn't know what to do, I couldn’t imagine going back to eating 1200 calories a day, and running was painful at 275 lbs. That's about the time all this information came out about the gastric bypass. It was this miracle cure. I went to a free consultation and found out my insurance paid 100%. I thought it was a dream-come-true. They sure made it sound like it was. After my surgery I got a gym membership and after my 8 week recovery I was at the gym 5 days a week. In 90 days I had lost all of my weight. IT WAS a dream come true...or so I thought. I have so many health issues and complications now. I wish I had never done it. I've almost been at deaths door twice now due to this surgery. If I had just got back on track and taken the time I needed to lose the weight, or if I had only known about Beach body back then…I already had the willpower to workout, I just couldn’t run and that’s all I knew to lose weight. It wasn't the easy way out...because absolutely nothing about it has been easy. I've had two hernias, had to have my gallbladder removed because of it, had a blood transfusion and now I have to have regular iron infusions and constant blood work. I'm lactose intolerant and now I suddenly have tons of food allergies that I didn't have before. They SAY it's unrelated, but I find that hard to believe. If I had it to do over again…I’d like to think knowing what I know now…I would do it the right way. Proper nutrition and exercise, a great support system and my wonderful co@ch friends here at Beach body! I love you all!!
Now having said this, I don't judge anyone for having the surgery....If you do, or did, then please, just take care of yourself. Get regular check ups to make sure you're on track with your vitamins and nutrients as you won't absorb the same anymore. Since I've been through this, I want to be here for you! But please, if you haven't had it yet...consider the alternatives.
I now want to be the healthiest me I can be and to be a personal fitness trainer and make fitness a part of my life and to help others achieve their goals. That is why I decided to become a Beachbody Coach! If I'm your coach, I'm here to help YOU reach your fitness goals.
