Transformation story

It started in my late 40s. A high-pressure job, time constraints, stress eating--and hormonal shifts. Fun times. All I wanted to do in the evenings was eat and collapse. I'd worked out regularly for More ...
It started in my late 40s. A high-pressure job, time constraints, stress eating--and hormonal shifts. Fun times. All I wanted to do in the evenings was eat and collapse. I'd worked out regularly for 20 years, but now I just couldn't muster the energy.

It was two whole years before a back injury forced me to confront the truth. I'd allowed myself to become totally deconditioned, gained about 20 pounds and lost all muscle definition. I honestly didn't recognize my own body.

So I took up Pilates. Within a few months, my back quit hurting, and I could actually see muscles again. But I still wasn't ready to tackle cardio workouts or change my eating habits, so my weight kept creeping up.

When I hit 150, I went to a medical weight loss clinic and dropped back down to 125. It was exciting to find myself in the mirror again! Eventually my weight stabilized about 10 pounds over that goal, while my energy level headed the other direction.

After 12 days of the Beachbody lifestyle, I'm already shaking off that slump and eager to find out how great a 56-year-old body can look and feel!
