Rancho Palos Verdes, CA UPDATE: A year has gone by and I'm still pushing hard. Weight is below 175lbs and still dropping slowly. I've finished 3 rounds of P90X and 1 round of Insanity. I recently started RevAbs to give my body a little break while waiting for Asylum to hit the streets. Now back to my story...

It was Feb 17, 2010. 3 months before my 38th b-day and I was disgusted with myself. Not working out, terrible eating and sleep habits. It's no wonder I was always tired and in the worst shape of my life. I boarded my flight from ORD to LAX the next morning determined to make a change.
As a technical dive instructor and cave diver, I needed to set a good example for my students. On top of that, my "real" job in IT sales has me staying in hotels and eating out ~80 nights during the year - not a good combination.
I had a copy of P90X sitting on the shelf collecting dust and decided it was time to give it a shot. I cleaned up my diet and started pushing play. After only 10 days of P90X, I was impressed. Weight was dropping and my energy was up. I'm now officially a P90X graduate, 25lbs lighter and taking on Insanity.
I couldn't have done it without the support of Team Beachbody, my coach and the all the friends I've met here. After "graduating" I wanted to return the favor and became a Team Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals.

My real goal is to lose weight and add strength. Shouldn't be hard to do considering that I'm overweight and out of shape. In Aug 2009, I hit my all time high of 205lbs (I graduated high school at 150lbs). I borrowed a friend's P90X videos and followed the Ab Ripper and X Stretch routines for a few weeks and manged to drop a few pounds, but didn't stick with it.
I figured the only way to truly commit to the program was to invest in it financially, so I bought my own copy of P90X and finally started pressing play on Feb 19, 2010 - at 198.6lbs. Made some dietary changes along the way (reduce/eliminate bad carbs & sugar, while eating more vegetables). Day 8 - weighed in at 192.4lbs. Already dropped 6lbs. Flexibility and balance are improving rapidly and I'm waking before my alarm goes off. Also walking the dog 2 miles a day.
Day 11 - Hip flexors are finally catching up so my abs are doing the work on Ab Ripper X. Abs are feeling it this morning.
Day 90 - 174lbs! I'm officially a P90X graduate, shedding almost 25lbs of body fat in the process.
Started round 2, but made the switch to Insanity after Phase 1. I thought Tony Horton had gotten me into good shape. Shaun T, thinks differently. Loving Insanity!
