Currently I am a stay at home mom of two mega busy children who are seven and four. I left the out-of-home workforce in May 2009 to be home with them and give more attention to my Hero, graduate school, our church, and foster parenting.

Part of my growth during recent months is a blog titled "Called to Grow." One of the topics God has led me to is the attributes of a Trophy Wife. Now, you would have to actually read my blog to know what I am talking about because it is not what you are probably thinking...that said, being a fit wife is a portion of being a trophy wife. It is my goal, through caring for myself, to be the best wife to my Hero that I can be.

I addition to becoming a healthy and fit trophy wife I also want to avoid some of the health problems I have a genetic predisposition for: diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, bone loss. I know if I am in shape and properly caring for myself I will stand a much greater chance of beating these afflictions.

I find myself in a place where I have spent the past few years finding solace and stress relief in food. Once the children were born I never took the time to get fit. When my father got sick and died I certainly wasn't thinking about the things crossing my lips or the dent my butt was leaving on the couch.

I won't be able to do the things I want to do with my life and family if something drastic doesn't change. Now is the time for me to make to make that change.
