I just turned 48 years old December 2008. My weight has always been an issue for me. I have allowed it to climb to 240 lbs. I actually do exercise regularly, but I needed to do something harder with more results. Eating right is a problem for me. I eat large portions, sugary foods like cake, and I drink alcohol. Everyone in my family is overweight. I am determined to change my lifestyle. I

I think the first step is just to decide to do it. I lost my job in Sept. 2008. I think the stress of knowing this could happen caused me to gain substantial weight over the last 3 years. I tried weight watchers and lost some, but always gained when I stopped it. I have always exercised and enjoyed it. I have a bow flex and an eliptical machine and since I've been off work, I walk on the beach. I realized that exercise and dance is something I enjoy - dieting is not, so maybe I just need to change up the exercise and watch what I eat instead of trying some new diet plan.
