I've been working out off and on for many years (mostly "off"), but I've never
been able to make exercise a permanent part of my lifestyle. I've gained a lot
of weight over the years (I'm currently 45) and would like to not only lose
weight permanently, but to have better health and increased vitality.

I've also gained a wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters (4 and 2)
recently. They are

At the be beginning of the year 2007, I tipped the scales at 341 lbs. Perhaps
more importantly, I had high blood pressure, a high resting heart rate and
was considerably out of shape. Being a father of two young girls, Sabrina (4)
and Samantha (2), I decided it was time to set an example of healthy eating
and exercise habits so that weight issues will never have to be a part of their
lives.

In January of 2007, I did something that was very bold for me. With
encouragement from the Beachbody bulletin boards, I enrolled myself into the 2008 Disney Marathon. I did that despite the fact that I could not jog 1
lap around my local high school track without stopping.

All this year, I've used the Beachbody bulletin boards, along with my
marathon entry, to help keep me motivated and working out. By gradually
increasing my intensity and duration, I've been able to consistently improve in
all areas of fitness -- including improvementsts in strength, endurance,
flexibility and even co-ordination. I've been able to complete the entire Kathy
Smith Project You exercise tape and have improved my cardiovascular fitness
to the point where I ran my first 5K in April and my first 10K in June. In
September, I'm enrolled in the US Air Force Marathon as part of relay team,
and ran a 7 mile leg of this marathon. I've also completed races of 4 miles, 8
miles and 17K in October and on Thanksgiving, I ran a 5 mile Turkey Trot
race, completing the race averaging 11 minutes per mile. In November 2007
alone, I spent over 1200 minutes in cardiovascular activity. As my weekly
long runs have increased to over 16 miles, I feel confident and prepared to
finish my first marathon in January.

Combining my aerobic training with strength training and proper nutrition,
I've also seen trendous results around my waistline, losing 51 lbs (and over 5
inches around my waist). But more importantly, my blood pressure has been
reduced to 125/78, my resting heart rate has been reduced to below 60, and
a recent choleterol test shows that my blood cholesterol has been reduced to
159.

I am extrememely thankful for the exercise routines from Beachbody and the
wonderful support program. Without them, I could not have made the
progress I've made this year. And not only will I continue to rely on their help
and support to continue to improve my fitness level and hopefully reach my
marathon goals, but I hope that I can provide support and motivation for
others as well!
