So far as a single mom with in a fast-paced, competitive career, it has been almost impossible to find time to exercise or to plan my meals. I love Starbucks coffee with LOTS of whipped creme and I LOVE carbs and pastries!! I have tried exercising two hours a day at the gym doing a punching bag class, then running on the treadmill until I was blue in the face. I kept lowering my calorie intake until I realized I was consuming 800-900 calories per day!! I did lose a pant size, but my weight was still not where I wanted it. I quickly burned out and gave up. Then it got worse: I gained another 25 lbs and shot back up to the 2 dolla club (200+lbs). I had accepted that I was always going to be a lardy until one day I saw the infomercial for TurboJam. The music is what got me hooked, plus it had the dance and the punching and kicking that I love so much. Plus it had the diet plans I desperately needed. I needed a specific diet with a shopping list so I could actually follow through with the diet. I think that will help me eat the right foods rather than eat nothing. I also think the program will help me get past that plateau by giving me weight training and flexibility rather than killing myself with cardio only. I plan to follow the recommended plan and add running to the mix as I get into better shape. I love to run and kayak, so it is my goal to get in shape enough to enjoy these activities as well as lose at least 60 lbs and feel good about how I look so I feel comfortable dating again.
