I am a stay at home mom of 3 very active boys. My father had a massive heart attack at age 39. He survived. I'm 42. I don't want to just SURVIVE. I want to thrive. Both my parents have Type 2 Diabetes, my Mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. Neither of my parents ate well or exercised. I need to provide my children with a better example. I want them to enjoy my company, not take care of me.
I put on extra weight with each child, and I did exercise but not with much commitment or direction. In August 2006 while taking a martial arts class (Haidong Gumdo) I tore a ligament in my hip. It was discovered that I had 3 buldging discs in my back and arthritis in my lower lumbar. I saw a doctor who told me to cease all exercise/activity INCLUDING pushing my son in a jogging stroller. After just a few months the pain became worse and I gained 10 pounds! I felt horrible.
When I eventually went to see an Orthopedist he indicated that the WORST thing I could have done was to stop exercising. Whatever muscle I had to stablilize my back was diminished and I needed to rebuild and strengthen. Carefully, Slowly, Consistantly.
My New Years resolution in January 2007 was to start running again. I was at 141 pounds and the worst physical condition of my life. The running helped and I started to lift some light weights at home but not with proper consistency. One morning I received an email from a friend with a link to the Million Dollar Body website.
I read the email and was very skeptical, but as I continued to read...BAM!! I saw a childhood friend (Absmom) who was always "chunky", she was a SUCCESS story and had amazing results with the products... what a shock it was to see that! I thought, WOW, this is real and I can do it! I hadn't seen her in a few years since moving out of state but contacted her immediately with all kinds of questions.
Coincidentally it was my 39th birthday and I woke up feeling ready for a commitment. I don't want my children to see me as limited. I don't want to be limited. I am now on my new journey to become the fittest I can be. I NEED to stay healthy and fit for my future and the future of my family.

I feel so much stronger and healthier. My mood has improved, my family's eating has improved! I have NO back pain anymore! It's inspired me to help others, I've joined the MDB team as a coach. MY mission is to complete Power 90 and move on to P90X. Tear it up! Here I come...

I am now doing the P90X program and loving it. I have increased my strength tremedously.
4/26/08-Ran my first 5K ever!!!!! I completed it in 29.45. Very excited how my health improves everyday. My children even want to run the next race with me on July 13th. Wish us luck! Oh and I am now in training for a 1/2 marathon in Sept. Woo Hoo!!!!
I ran my 2nd 5k and beat my time by 2 min. ran it in 27.51 and my 10 year old son ran it in 23.42. We are bringing it!!!
Starting 1/5/09-I will be training for my 1st marathon!!!!!! Who Knew!!!!
Marathon almost here 4/26/09 began a new journey with ChaLean Extreme yesterday. Just received my 1st delivery of SHAKEOLOGY. It just keeps getting better and better!!
4/26/09 ran 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles) non-stop!!!!! Completed it in 2:23:15 woo hoo!!!! More Marathon in New York City around Central Park on my birthday!! Ohhh What a feeling!!!!!
10/9-11/09- I went to Philidelphia PA to attend Tony Hortons Fitness Camp. What an amazing man. I am recommiting to go the extra mile with Tony Horton. We truely can change the world one person at at time!!!
I have transformed my familys diet to organic and clean eating. I cant get enough info on healthy eating and great exercise. My new dream is to return to school to become a nutritionist and possibly get certified as a CPT. I have 3 young children and would love to help with the childhood obesity epidemic with my new passions. My children are also learning about healthful eating and are educating their friends! Love It!!! Thanks Beachbody!! Together with this wonderful community we can change the world!!!
