Chalfont, PA For as long as I can remember, I have been fighting the battle of the bulge. I do love a good workout, though. I love the feeling of accomplishment after my workouts, but get bored easily, so for me, variety is key. Also, my father died when I was thirteen and my mother's health has deteriorated to the point where she now resides in a nursing home. I have two children now and I want to be a good example to them and do my part to be around and healthy for as long as possible. I have been "buying" Beachbody and other videos for years (If I had lost and kept off a pound for every dollar I spent.....) It wasn't until January, 2010 that I actually put my mind to it and completed my first program on schedule - Hip Hop Abs. Since then I've been on a roll - Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Abs Level 2, ChaLean Extreme, Turbo Jam 2, Turbo Fire, Body Gospel, Les Mills Pump, Brazil Butt Lift, and I am now anxiously awaiting Les Mills Combat. I am not one of the infomercial success stories, the proverbial hare, so to speak. It's taken some time, but I've lost 36 pounds. More importantly, I have gained confidence and a healthier lifestyle. I am getting there and I'm okay with being a tortoise!

As I mentioned, I have been buying videos for a long time, 10/27/07 is the recorded date. It wasn't until 2008 when I stood on the scale for my yearly weigh in, and stared at the number in disbelief as the tears started to form in my eyes, that I decided to make changes in my life. As the Beachbody slogan suggests, I decided, but I didn't fully commit, so the results weren't fantastic the first year. I lost a net of 8 pounds. I wasn't thrilled, but figured it was better than a gain. 2010 was the year that I both Decided and Committed. Aside from two weeks, I worked out 6 days a week, and incorporated healthy diet choices as well as Beachbody supplements. I lost 18.5 pounds for a total of 26.5! More importantly, I gained confidence and my borderline cholesterol numbers decreased to a healthy range. I still have a lot to lose, but I'm trying to take it one pound at a time and give myself special accolades each time I see another 0!
