Coral Springs, FL Hi everyone, Craig Davis aka “Coach22Dash.” July 2011 I competed in the World Masters Track & Field Championship (Olympics for Masters) with 93 countries and over 4800 athletes competing. In the 50-54 age group I was successful in becoming a FINALIST in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. The field was topped by Willie Gault, NFL and Olympic athlete at age 50. I was proud to be the only 54 year old to make the final, in fact there wasn't even a 53 year old. Next year in 55-59 I expect to be a tough competitor. Over the next 90 Days, P90X to firm up with muscle confusion. I really want you to enjoy my Transformation Story since I think it’s unique. I am married for 29 years with two successful grown children 29 and 25. I was a HS and College athlete whom converted to a desk jokey which loves to compete as a nationally ranked Masters Track Athlete in 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. The 22Dash is a combo of two loves; the number 22 is symbolic of my football number and the dates I met and married my beautiful wife, Karen; while the “Dash” was my nickname in Track (sprinter).
I enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals and become health conscious. Fitness and health is a life style change for everyone to embrace. I have coached children and adults with enthusiasm and everyone learns at different paces. If I am your coach, I hope that I can provide the knowledge and enthusiasm you are looking for in a coach. At 52 and Athletic, “Being Smart and Careful with injuries” is critical! Playing sports in HS, college, and running in Master’s track meets was always a high for me. But in June 2008 my world More ...
At 52 and Athletic, “Being Smart and Careful with injuries” is critical! Playing sports in HS, college, and running in Master’s track meets was always a high for me. But in June 2008 my world changed after playing back to back days of Golf in between track workouts. I fatigued the muscles in my lower back and herniated disk “L5-S1 “. I knew rest is very important which I felt golf would be restful but my body was so tuned to one sport (sprinting) that the consecutive days of twisting and the pounding of the track workouts may have caused the injury. Seven (7) months of trying to eliminate the sciatic nerve pain included two epidurals, decompression, chiropractic, message, acupuncture and more. I was scheduled surgery but I began to have some relief and under advisement by many – “Be patient and try to do this with out going under the knife.” Easier said then done. As I was told, you will know within a year what you may need to live with and how true that is. I still have daily pain but training a strong core is XTREMELY IMPORTANT! My P90X TRANSFORMATION: My beautiful wife, Karen, and I were doing “THE GYM THING” every AM before work. I knew how to workout at the gym and that’s what I thought. We even tried one of those personal trainers a couple of years ago. When the injury occurred I was 145 lbs and a lean Sprinter. My cardio ability was gone; I maintain as much upper body strength as possible and worked my legs as best I could while staying away from incurring any stress to the lower back. By January 2009, I was 162 lbs and somewhat discouraged “depressed” that I lost my runners body. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SEEN P90X on TV? With the economic times of 2008, we knew that we needed to trim some monthly expenses. I went online to review the clips of each DVD and thought WOW this could be tough. Then I reviewed them with Karen and on each clip I would say, “Do you think you could do this?” We agreed to order the program and if we could commit to it that we would stop our gym membership. Not only did we commit to it but would could not believe the CALORIE BURN vs. Gym workouts. We have transformed our bodies in 90 days unlike anything we have done in the gym, USING ONE HOUR A DAY. I can’t believe the motivation it has provided Karen and I both can not believe our body transformations in just 90 days. We can not wait to see how our bodies will transform as we make BEACHBODY our life style vs. the gym. I would love to assist you in your transformation and achieve the freedom I feel……. COACH22DASH!!! As far as my back pain, that’s the transformation!!! I had a patch in my back which may have been scar tissue which I did not feel would ever leave me. But I committed to being smart and stayed within my comfort level while working out. MODIFY, MODIFY, MODIFY….. This well designed program slowly enhanced flexibility, strength all areas of my body which I TRULY BELIEVE AIDED IN MY RECOVERY. I could only touch my knees when I bent over but today with still great focus I can touch the ground, again. In closing be careful as you should with any program, grow into your new found freedom, and BRING IT to your best ability. Be Smart and Be Careful.
