So, the New Year is upon us and although I am not necessarily big on "New Years Resolutions", I do believe it is a great time to reflect on what we have done well and what needs improvement.

As a coach I have had the priviledge of seeing great persistance and commitment as well as the rewards that come from it. I look forward to another year of seeing great achievements and am here to

As painful as hitting rock bottom was, it was actually a godsend.

I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, a defect in the immune system which causes muscle and bone wasting. It affects almost every part of the body including the nervous system, digestive and reproductive systems, lungs, eyes, skin and hair. As alarming as my diagnosis and deteriorating health was, that fear gradually diminished over the months as I recovered and I settled back into my old habits. I still smoked and a broken foot also served as a worthless excuse.

On a trip with my husband Scott, I quickly realized my swim suit bottoms I had packed didn’t fit. I had to buy a pair of men’s board shorts at the local shop because they didn’t carry any women’s suits large enough. I was humiliated. Scott’s futile efforts to console me as I cried in the dressing room left him feeling defeated as well. Not exactly the start we envisioned for our first trip in 20 years.

The agony was enough to foster change and serious resolve. I’d experienced plenty of awkward embarrassment in the past, but this time it jarred me. It may seem somewhat shallow to deliver such a blow, but it encompassed more than a swimsuit not fitting. I was ashamed in my lack of self control and the obvious absence of self respect my physical appearance displayed to the world.

Arriving home, I opened the P90 box. The fresh sting of humiliation and horror of the additional 8lbs gained on vacation helped push my intimidation aside to get started. P90 taught me consistency, nurtured my growing confidence and gave me hope.

Beachbody Products were instrumental in my continued lifestyle changes.

Friends and family noticed my physical changes as well as improved mood. Life became more fulfilling. At times I worried I may need to idle back my exuberance, but decided sharing less than what Beachbody has afforded me would be depriving others of the tremendous opportunity to change their own health and wealth.

The changes in my life continue to impact my family. Since Type 1 and 2 Diabetes are in my immediate family as well, they are grateful for the release of Project You Type 2 and recognize the importance of Beachbody’s mission. P90X, X+, Chalean and ShaunT are all worked into my rotations; however, I can safely assume I won’t be called for any dance auditions soon. I have a short attention span so the variety that Beachbody provides is a must!

My new confidence has opened a world of activities like running without crushing my joints and participating in the workouts provided by the local trainer on vacation. What I’ve come to appreciate most may seem anti-climactic to some, but with my increased endurance, I can get my daily chores done with ease and still have energy left over for all the other things I enjoy.

Self doubt had always been my demon which stemmed from many past failures to follow through so I am amazed when I look back at all that has materialized from a little box of VHS tapes I ordered from an infomercial.

The tools Beachbody has developed with the Club made meal planning and recipes just a few clicks away and enabled me to make significant changes in my diet which got me to my initial win in June and it continues to inspire me to try new foods I’d otherwise avoid. The drive through, pre-packaged meals and constant treats gradually lost their hold & my family is surprised at how little they’re missed.

I knew my relationship with food would change. An unexpected element was coming to terms with the fact that some of my relationships with other people had to change as well. I will no doubt be faced with future obstacles, but the gratification will continue to be in overcoming them. These triumphs are creating an even stronger personal foundation.

Beachbody’s research, technology and product development provided a system that has changed my life and continues to change the lives of those I share it with.

Thank you Beachbody for allowing me to be a part of your vision.

Make each day count!!!!
