Clarksville, IN I am a stay at home mom. I have 2 children, Kenny 4 and Amaya 3. They are my life. Until 8 years ago when I met my husband I always thought I was "fat". I was around 140 lbs at that time. About 2 years into our marriage I went on a trip to see my grandmother right before she passed away and we were packing up her house so she could go to a nursing home and I came across a scale. About 2 years into our marriage I went on a trip to see my grandmother right before she passed away and we were packing up her house so she could go to a nursing home and I came across a scale. I weighed myself and was 202 lbs. I was in shock and awe. At that moment I decided it was time to make a change in my life. Then shortly after that I got pregnant and had kids and fitness and a healthy lifestyle took a backseat until I saw Turbo Jam after Christmas 2007. I ordered it and got on the path I wanted to be on about 6 years ago.
Update 7/3/2009: So after about 3 months of doing TJ I had to get a job and started falling into the same habits I was in before. Here I am over a year later and got all the way back up to 282.4 as of 5/5/09. Shortly after that, after watching the season finale of The Biggest Loser, I started trying to lose weight again. It started off really good with the pounds coming right off. As of today I am down to 263.7. I am averaging just under 2lbs a week and am happy that I'm making this more of a lifestyle change rather than just dieting and exercising for a bit. I've joined up with my local YMCA and have a variety of things I am doing to switch up my workouts.
Update 12/3/2009: I am now a coach! I finally did it! I'm so excited to help others with the commitment to themselves to become healthier and more fit. As of today I am down to 228 lbs! I am doing this and hope to be under 200 lbs by the end of January. That is totally doable! Please, if you're thinking about getting fit, don't make it an unhealthy quick thing and go back to what got you where you were in the first place. Make it a lifestyle change, for you! If I want some ice cream or something that has no nutritional value, I wait 30-60 minutes, re-evaluate if I really want it, and then if I cannot fight the urge, I get it- moderation is the key. Always go for 1/2-1 serving, not 2-3 servings of ice cream, and not every single day.

My starting weight on 5/5/2009 was 282.4 lbs. My goal is to get to 150 lbs and then re-evaluate for a new goal. I've found several awesome websites where you can see how you're eating and track your progress. One of them is http://www.FitDay.com. This one allows you to put in all the food you eat in a day, track your measurements, track your activities/workouts, and track your weight loss. It is really an eye-opener to track every little thing that you put in your mouth, including gum. Once you make yourself accountable for what you're eating, you'll start to notice yourself picking up different types of food. It's nice to look back on, too. When I hit a plateau, I've looked back on my eating habits to overcome them, as well. My favorite free tracker is http://www.sparkpeople.com. Feel free to add me on there, my username is LynnGonnaWin.
Every Friday I weigh-in and track my progress. I take measurements the beginning of each month as well. Every month after I take my measurements, I also take 3 pictures of myself, full body. No, it's not pretty, but it helps me to see any progress or otherwise and I use this for motivation.
Something that has been essential for my success is my Bodymedia armband. It is very similar to a bodybugg and is even made by the same company. It helps keep me accountable on how many calories I am burning during my workouts and my everyday activities, including sleep. The only time I'm not wearing it is if I'm taking a shower or swimming. I've found how much more quickly I take a shower now LOL. If I can help you with anything, please feel free to message me.
