Allentown, PA My name is Carla. I have been overweight for about 8 years now. I’m not even sure when I actually became overweight, it was a gradual process. I’m not even sure when I actually became overweight, it was a gradual process. It took me a long time to admit I was overweight. I finally just reached a point recently where I was completely unhappy with the road I was on. I knew what I was capable of and yet I still kept procrastinating, eating the wrong foods and doing nothing to change my outcome. I’m a strict vegetarian; the perception of vegetarians is that we’re all very healthy. However, I can tell you that while I am a vegetarian I still chose to eat too many unhealthy foods. I also have a sweet tooth which was hard for me to curb.
I wish I could share with you the exact moment I finally decided to take action to work on getting healthy. I believe it was a combination of things; I have had a business idea for a long time that I want to pursue, but I kept putting that off, finding it hard to see me as a success in my current state of unhealthiness. I don’t just mean physically. Being unhealthy physically can also affect your mental health and put you in a depressed state of mind which of course can lead to spiritual and emotional unhealthiness. After experiencing some personal losses I think that helped me to get over my hurdle and realize that time is ticking away and I can either get on the ride or sit back and watch everyone else enjoy the ride.
Now I am eating healthy, paying attention to ingredients in foods I purchase, and cooking more of my own foods. For me cooking my own food is the best way to take control. I stopped eating at my work’s cafeteria everyday and started packing my lunches as well.
I first started working out with Beachbody’s Power 90. I took it slow and began to catch on. I then moved onto Turbo Jam. I lost 20 pounds and gained confidence with Power 90 and Turbo Jam I hadn’t had for quite awhile. Now I am working out with P90X. I was nervous about doing P90X, but I didn’t want to let fear control me again so I took the plunge. I am starting my fourth week on P90X and feeling great in every way possible. Not all my moves are precise or pretty, and some I can’t do quite yet, but I keep at it because I know I’ll get it eventually.
I’ve discovered that doing nothing, taking no action to change anything will only keep you where you’re currently at. If you want to change, but aren’t sure where to start, change one small thing, whether it’s turning off the television an hour earlier to read a book, or take a walk around the block, or just deciding to choose one healthy food to eat in the correct serving size portion. One small change will give you the hope and confidence to make other small changes until you realize one day that you’re life is changing because you’re no longer sitting on the sidelines; you’re on the ride of life.
I’d love for you to join me on my journey and see how it progresses. Hopefully, watching me take this journey will help to give you the confidence to hop on the ride with me. Together we can do this, change our lives and possibly others lives as well. Come along with me, I’d love the company on this ride. Ready, set, let’s ride!

My transformation story is a work in progress. When I first started working out to Turbo Jam I was very overweight and unhappy with the direction of my life. Turbo Jam helped me find my way. About half way through the program I had lost a few pounds already, but was craving something more intense as I used to do Tae Kwon Do. P90X was the answer! I started P90X and was scared of it and in love with it all at the same time. I kept at it and at the end of the program I had lost 45 lbs! I've since moved onto many other Beachbody workouts including the latest TurboFire, but plan on doing another round of P90X soon because my body responds the best to this workout. I still have weight to lose, but I'm on track. Becoming a Beachbody Coach helped me stay on track, I got to meet some incredible people and am having a great time as a coach! Plus, let's face it, the discounts we get are fantastic! :) I love helping people find their way to health and fitness too which is why part of why I signed up to be a coach. Since joining the Beachbody family my life has done a 360! I have so much more confidence in myself and am now involved in so many great activities that are truly rewarding. I plan on keep pushing play because that's just the best thing to do for myself!
