I am no different from any other middle aged woman. I got married at 29, had a beautiful baby at 33 and soon after weighed 190 lbs. I stayed there for 3 years, stressed out and tired. When my daughter finally started sleeping thru the night (at 2 1/2 years old!!!!) I got shingles all down the left side of my body. I have spent most of my life battling low blood pressure, fatigue, and hypoglycemia issues. I decided that I could'nt go on feeling that way. I was in pain, fat, and depressed. I never wanted my picture taken, I never wanted to look in the mirror, and I never wanted to go anywhere. I tried every fad diet in the book. I would loose a few pounds and still feel terrible. At the age of 37 my husband decided we would move from Texas, where I had lived my entire life, and go to Las Vegas, the land of beautiful people. We decided as a family to eat healthy. We would not eat out for a while, and we would cook. No more quick meals and quick fixes. It made a big difference. I actually got back to the gym and wasn't embarrassed. Last night I stepped on the scale (3/9/07) and it said 153! I have worked hard with diet and exercise to get this far. I don't have time to obsess over my weight, but I want to feel good about myself. I am eating smaller portions of good foods, and exercising regullarly. My goal is to be healthy and raise a healthy daughter.
