My name is Chris and I started P90X on 12/08/07, following the meal planner/ portion control plan for my diet. My family on either side of my parents are prone for either heart disease or diabetes. So my goal is to combat these diseases.
I am married to a beautiful lady who has the metabolism of a chipmunk (she can eat anything); however, if I look at a cookie I put on the pounds. Anyway,

What an amazing ride this has been, and I've been on many. I weighed(starting weight) just as much prior to my time in the military. Once I finished basic training I weighed less, but did not have this kind of a body. The toning and the essence of a six pack is amazing to me. I thought that my family genetics would never allow me to have those types of things.
Now that I've finished P90X, I've discovered that we all carry with us the genes that can keep us over-weight and depressed and unmotivated; it's called laziness (for lack of a better term), and fear. When I first started this, I was offered to join a group of guys that put some money together (biggest loser), and see who could lose 10% of their weight first to get the pool of money. I didn't join because I was afraid of failure. In hind-sight, I was the first to lose the weight, and I have surpassed my original goal of losing 30 pounds. I've lost 45 to this day. I will continue to work out using P90X and have started mixing the P90X+ into my routine. What a way to rock your body, enhance your fitness, and stabilize your mental health.
This adventure has found me coaching people that have not set goals yet, but I continue to motivate anyone I can, so they might make the right health choice and start on their own journey.
