I'm 28 years old and come from a family of overweight overeaters! I always told myself I wanted the future of my family to be different. I then realized if I wanted to see changes, I was going to have to be the one to start setting the example.

I've always had a hard time with food and fighting my "fate." I tried the quick fixes and fads, pills, starvation, and binging and purging. I always felt I had to work really hard to keep my weight down and go to any measure to avoid my inevitable fate.

I really started making health and fitness a higher priority my second year in college (2002). And when I left college I had a gym membership for a few years and really enjoyed going to the cardio kickboxing, step, and total conditioning group classes, but my rates kept going up ($720/year!!) and I wasn't financially able to continue going, so I ordered the Turbo Jam workouts as a substitute. And they are almost every bit identical to what I was doing at the club. I then realized, with the help of Beachbody products, that I didn't need to have a gym membership to get in the best shape of my life. In fact, I realized I was getting MORE out of Beachbody than I was my gym membership!! This was so exciting to me!! I began learning the basic building blocks of health, fitness, and nutrition.

I now live a healthy eating/fitness lifestyle. I found that eating right was actually most of the battle for me. And working so hard to keep my weight down has turned into an automatic healthy lifestyle that doesn't require the kind of effort it used to.

Now instead of obsessing over my delusional fate, I focus on feeling good. I enjoy challenging myself, pushing my limits, and taking my body to new levels, which is why I've been through P90X, ChaLEAN Extreme,INSANITY, and Turbo Fire. And since my first love, Turbo Jam, I've become a Beachbody Coach so that I can share health and fitness with others looking to make the transition into a healthier lifestyle.
