I am entering my sophomore year at UNR (University of Nevada, Reno) majoring in accounting & finance. Sports and physical fitness have been an important part of my life since the ripe old age of 5. I attained my first degree black belt in taekwondo at the age of 9 and played all of the normal league sports; soccer, basketball and baseball. I continued to participate in these sports at the varsity level throughout high school, although I substituted football for soccer. I continued football at the division I collegiate level during my freshman year at UNR as a “walk on” kicker. My outdoor activities range from snowboarding, riding ATV’s, surfing, boogie boarding and tennis. I have done a couple of extreme physical challenges like bungee jumping off the bridge in Zimbabwe/Zambia over Victoria Falls, which is the second highest jump in the world and shear face gorge jumping . . . what a kick! Looking forward to someday learning to skydive, hang glide and getting certified in scuba diving. Although training & conditioning are an integral part of organized sports and are provided through the athletic department at school, I have to say that I have seen the most significant conditioning results from the training I received from my dad (my coach Billy D). He has the ability to push the right buttons, keep me positive and provide a challenge with the right combination of exercise routines and proper nutrition to achieve these results. When he was introduced to Beachbody last year through P90X, my conditioning took on a whole new dimension with unbelievable results. I am a firm believer in the Beachbody program and challenge everyone who’s serious about getting into shape to take Tony Horton’s challenge to complete P90, P90X and P90X+. Join, decide, commit and without question you will succeed using these programs, supplements and nutrition guides.

If someone had told me that doing push-ups, pull-ups, plyometrics, yoga, kenpo and core synergistics for 90 days would pack on 8 lbs of solid muscle, reduce my body fat by a good 2%, add 3.5 inches to my chest, reduce my waist by almost 3 inches and add a full 3 inches to each arm, I would have thought they were absolutely crazy. Yet P90X did exactly that in 90 days. When my dad told me about trying P90X and how he saw it on an “infomercial” I thought that I’d placate him and try it for a week. Normally, the programs pitched on television are for the fat guy who hasn’t exercised in his life and is looking forward to an early death if he doesn’t start doing some type of physical activity and curb his eating. P90X is not, I repeat, not for that guy, however, it is perfect for someone who is “in-shape” and wants more results from the time spent training. I was hooked (and very sore) after the first week. The cool thing about P90X is that you see definite results in the first 30 days, which keeps you primed for the next 30 days. After 60 days you can’t wait to get to day 90, because you’re gonna be looking fantastic . . . and you do! It doesn’t get much better than that, especially in such a short period of time. P90X got me in prime condition for collegiate football and definitely increased my position performance. When former high school teammates saw me prior to leaving for UNR they thought that I’d been doing “roids”. I told them about P90X and Tony Horton’s philosophy of muscle confusion. They were having a little trouble wrapping their heads around the daily change up of exercise routines and couldn’t believe that you had to do yoga. I, like most of my friends, had always thought yoga was for the veggie eating people of the world who didn’t want to do “real” exercise. After sweating through Yoga X, I have a whole new respect for them and this form of exercise. It blasts the stabilizers, improves core concentration, mental focus and body balance better than anything that I have ever done. I don’t believe in diets, only good sound nutrition and the use of key supplements. Each day my meals were supplemented with high performance vitamins, fish oil, glucosamine, creatine and protein shakes. I could not have gotten the results that I did without the proper supplements, plus the P90X recovery drink is “the bomb”. You can’t believe that something that tastes that good is really good for you. Most of those drinks leave a lot to be desired. The next fitness challenge is P90X+ . . . I’ll keep you posted.
