As you can no doubt tell from my before photo, excessive weight is not a problem that I have ever had to deal with, fortunately. However, a thin frame and tall stature (think long and lanky) are also not the epitome of glaring masculinity. I chose Power 90 more for what it could put on, not for what it would take off.
Occasionally, I have had to take a break from Power 90 due to professional obligations. Each hiatus from Tony and the crew produced the results that one would expect from not pressing play: decreased strength and muscle tone, increased softness around the midsection, and a general feeling of sluggishness and lack of energy. I have been on this exercise/extended break rollercoaster since the summer of 2004 when I first joined the ranks of the Power 90 disciples.
My P90 experience has been an achievement of great results broken up by a career that demands a significant amount of time and energy. Additionally, on September 22nd, 2007 I became the VERY proud father of a little boy named Gavin. My family and career were put at the top of my priority list while my health and fitness were placed on the back burner.
After making excuses for why I couldn’t keep up on a healthy and fit lifestyle, I decided to take some of my own advice and find the time that I have always told others was there, IF they were truly serious about doing something. We are ALL busy. A lot of us have families and careers that pull us in different directions and stretch us thin, but when you think about the number of hours in a day, it really shouldn’t be that difficult to carve out at least one for yourself, if you are truly serious about your health and fitness.
Since ringing the bell on my latest round of P90, this time P90 X, I have found time for myself by setting the alarm clock just a little over an hour earlier to cover the time that an X routine runs (and split my Yoga X in half, performing half one yoga-day and the other half the next). Is it hard to get up and push play? It was an adjustment, but one that I became used to over a couple of weeks. I created time where others say there is none. It’s not always easy, but doing so has given me the results that I am searching for. I feel better and stronger than ever and beginning the day with Tony leaves me feeling energized for the rest of the day. Really, the rules are simple: Decide to make a change in your appearance; Commit to your health and the Team Beachbody program; Succeed in achieving the results that you’re looking for. Follow this credo, in this and everything you do, and you’ll find what you’re searching for. Best of luck!
Chris
