It seemed like I could never fit in and was always the odd ball because I was, well, fat. People said I carried the weight well because I was tall, but I couldn't tell by the way people reacted...girls would make silly jokes toward me. I got teased by the guys too. The one thing I hated to be called was "big man"(even thought it wasn't meant in a bad way). I was just never really satisfied with my looks. Through high school I played football and lost some weight (245 was the lightest I have been) Then in college I picked it right back up. I've always wanted to be ripped, so I used that hopeful image of a ripped “me” in my head as fuel, doing various workout routines that never really took me anywhere (my diet didn't help much either). This went on through college. The year after graduation (2005), laziness and the stress of life caused me to shoot up to 308lbs! Absolutely shocked, I decided to do something. So I changed my eating habits and stuck to my workouts. I reached a plateau on my own at about 273lbs. Then I found Beachbody! It was an infomercial on TV for Slim in 6 that drew my attention to the website. After touring the website I decided that P90 was what I wanted. Man! The first day I did Sweat 1-2, I thought Power Yoga was going-to-KILL me! All that arm raising and knee lifting stuff was a beast! It was bad, but it was good. I mustered through the routines, trying to stick to the top 3 tiers of Michi's Ladder's (with rewards on the weekends at first). After about a month I noticed that my stomach area was starting to flatten a little and my arms and shoulders (most notably) were showing some definition (I would pose like I was that guy on the beach after the 3-4 sweat! Don't tell anybody!), and my face was slimming down. I actually bought a pack of 2x T-shirts for the first time since I was a kid - and they looked good on me!!! I was so excited! After a month, I upgraded to 3-4. That was intense! I started out strong, but I noticed it was becoming hard to stay consistent with the workouts so I would fluctuate between 3-4 and 1-2 depending on how I felt. I continued with this thoughout the rest of the 90 days. After round 1, I weighed in at 252lbs. A weight loss of 21lbs and I felt great! None of my clothes fit anymore (thank God it was almost Christmas) and everyone noticed how I had lost weight! Now I'm not one for too much lime light, but that was awesome! LOL! Losing 21lbs was impressive, but 252lbs was not my best. I still had some body fat left to kill, so I started fresh with another round of P90 on New Years Day. This one didn't go that well, as I got sick a little into February and I took about 2 weeks off. BUT I came back to it with a renewed commitment and determination. I didn't miss one day after starting round 2! Now, I've just finished day 63 of Round 3 (day 243 overall). To date I weigh about 235lbs, with approx 20% body fat, and I've lost 11 inches off of my body! My waist size is about 38-40 in (I haven't seen that since 12!), my chest, shoulders and back look awesome, and I feel great! I'm lighter than I was playing football in high school! How cool is that? And those 2x tee shirts I mentioned earlier......they're too big now! I’m down to a 1x (we're talking elementary school here!!!!) It has been an amazing ride. Seeing the changes my body has undergone has been awesome and it has great benefits. Though I still have a ways to go, I am so glad that I have made the progress that I have, and I can't wait to see what I look like at 220lbs and 200lbs (What?!) But it gets even better.... In late July I took an “after” picture to post on my profile. I was so amazed at my progress that I sent the link to my profile to a few of my family members. My older brother, who regularly hits the gym, was very impressed with my results…..so impressed that he and his wife have just started P90X! This past Monday started their 1st day working out. He called me while taking a break from the workout huffin’ and puffin, saying how drenched in sweat he was! I LOVE IT! The best part for me is that my brother and his wife know now first hand, how intense and effective P90X is and how enthusiastic they are about it. I talked to my brother today and he is determined to see it through to Day 90! That's AWESOME! My sister in-law told me how inspired she was after seeing my pics a couple of weeks ago. My brother was the same way..... and now to see he and his wife now making the steps through P90X together makes me feel really good. All the work I put into this program....barely making it through workouts, fighting through food cravings, and disciplining myself....it paid off. Not just for me, but now, for my family. And that means so much to me! I am so thankful for these awesome ways to change out lifestyles. I’m forever grateful. Currently, my ultimate goal is to get down to below 200lbs, but my short-term goal is 220 by October 31 (about 2.5lbs a week). I believe I can do it......If I am afforded the strength, with Million Dollar Body, I WILL do it! I currently work as a User Support Associate for a local Non-Profit company. I find it fun to see the changes that my body has made since I've started working out. For me it's always fun to see things better than they already are. That's part of what motivated me, the image of myself at my best. I would like to see others who were in the same position as I was, with no hope of being in shape, shoot to the top of their game. That's an awesome thing! Although it's sometimes still a struggle to execute the plan for fitness, it's my goal to make and keep healthy living a part of my lifestyle. I enjoy singing, drawing, writing, and now, working out. I believe I have a great life aheady of me, and thanks to the excellent programs at Million Dollar Body, I'll be here a long time to enjoy it! I have to give a big thank you to Beachbody and Tony Horton. Until now, I'd always dreamed of being in the best shape of my life, watching people on TV do it while I try and fail. The results just always seemed unattainable. But with P90, I've really been able to go for it and stick with it.... and actually make progress (I sound like an infomercial)!
