Now about me. I love food. All kinds of food. My food, your food...you name it. When I was younger I could eat it all and my weight was never a problem. I was one of those girls that didn't have to exercise.
Now I am 43 years old. I am married with one child, an 9 year old girl. I can't eat whatever I want anymore. My metabolism has changed but more importantly now I'm a role model for my daughter. After my daughter was born the extra weight didn't just disappear. I weighed more than I ever could have imagined. All that "luck" was now a CURSE because I had terrible habits that were VERY hard to break.
I enjoy my family and friends, I enjoy socializing. I come from a family of 13 kids and know how to work a crowd. I love the beach (and wearing a bathing suit) and spending time outdoors. I'm a veteran camper and can set up camp in record time. I have realized that being busy isn't the same as being active so I started to incorporate regular exercise into my routine.
My sister ("DawnBarca" formerly known as "absmom")and her husband ("xrayman") were Beachbody "SUCCESS" stories 7 years ago. I watched them both lose a lot of weight and it seemed easy for them. I watched them win a trip to Hawaii. But even with the proof and rewards I wasn't convinced that I could do it too so I waited.
I was finally ready when I admitted I actually weighed 165 pounds. Pre-baby I weighed 115-120 lbs "soaking wet". So I started Power 90. Since my initial 90 days I've been working out regularly to a variety of the great programs including Slim in Six & Turbo Jam and have Even worked out to P90X. I have never been happier to work out since INSANITY came along. I have completed that 60 day program and my results are amazing. I sent in my results & photos and received my "I EARNED IT" t-shirt. After that I dug deeper to start and finish, INSANITY THE ASYLUM. I sent in my stats to recieve my "I'm Committed" t-shirt! To start (and finish) those programs were big accomplishments for me...
I have so far lost 35 pounds. I know that eating is important and I have a lifetime of habits to still improve but I'm working on it. Being a Club Member has its benefits, it helps me with my meal planning.
I want to look good and feel good but I mostly want to be a healthy role model for my daughter and my nieces.
I've combined my newfound interest in exercise and good nutrition into a business. I am now a Coach and I'm earning income while supporting people in THEIR quest for better health and fitness.

I have always had what my dad calls a "hollow leg". It's not that I'm PROUD to say this but I can eat a lot.
In fact, my brother, who was a college football player, couldn't keep up with me. All well and good for a "skinny" girl. That's what I was, I topped the scales at 115 "soaking wet" for most of my life into my thirties...
When I became pregnant my habits didn't change, in fact I was now eating for 2! Needless to say I gained pregnancy weight and then some, only when she was born in 2002 my daughter didn't weigh 45 pounds so I had a lot to lose afterwards.
I didn't even worry about it at first. I guess I didn't really care, maybe I thought it would happen on it's own. Unfortunately my eating habits were ingrained and I had little if ANY workout ethic. Things weren't happening on their own.
It took some time but once I decided to put some effort into it I started Power 90. My heaviest post-pregnancy weight was 165 pounds, nearly 50 pounds over my "old weight". My sister and her husband really believed in the Power 90 program and she recommended I try it. As a stay-at-home Mom it appealed to me because, well, I could stay at home and do it.
It wasn't easy to start to reshape a lifetime of bad habits but with a regular program and an improvement in my eating I started to see the weight come off, my old figure started to peek out a little bit.
I still have work to do, I still have goals. I still have to work on improving my eating habits. But from where I was to where I am now I can't believe I ever waited, what was I waiting for anyway?

07/21/11 i've never blogged before so bare with me here. today i am started my 2nd week of my 2nd month of my 2nd round of INSANITY....I will not lie.. that is one tough workout.
