Born into a family that has owned a dance studio teaching ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, modern and hiphop, for the past 60 years, all in our family have made it a point to stay healthy and fit. In addition to dancing, I've always been a gym goer--lifting weights, taking fitness classes and loving every minute of it. I love coaching my dance students on what to eat and what not to eat, especially the yucky soft drinks they drink. Now I have them trained and I'm happy to say they do not drink sodas or gator aid anymore. They are also eating much healthier too. I love coaching them, not only on their dancing, but on what they put into their bodies. I'm very excited about this, because of all the home businesses I've been involved with, I've finally found my true niche! The money doesn't matter. I just want to help people reach their health and fitness goals and to encourage them not to give up when they want to quit. It's wonderful to be able to help someone change their life for the better--in health and in wealth!

I've been a dancer all my life and have always been very active, without even thinking about it. Dancing from the age of 2,starting with tap, then continuing on as I got older with ballet, jazz, ballet/pointe, performing with various dance groups, teaching dance, and choreographing, I never really thought about how healthy and strong my body was.
I was always interested in good nutrition and always ate well, with no weight gain. I took it all for granted.
In my late 20's to early 30's I started working out at the gym, in addition to the dancing.
After I had my second child, I noticed that even though nothing really changed, I was gaining weight little by little. Nothing had really changed in my lifestyle other than that. At this time I started thinking about my health, weight and nutrition a lot more.
When I lived in Ohio I opened my own dance studio, offering not only dance classes, but my own designed exercise classes. I attended the gym everyday regularly and even studied to be a personal trainer. I never took the test....life and divorce seemed to get the way at that time.
After moving back to Pittsburgh, PA, to teach dance for my parents business I was working out at the gym vigorously faithfully at 6:00 am everyday and taking rigorous spin and step classes as well as lifting weights.
I finally had to quit the step classes because of the pain in my lower back and glutes. I could barely move around to teach dance! So then, I just resorted to lifting the weights and spinning.
After a while I couldn't enjoy spinning anymore either. I was in too much pain.
You see, when I was at Point Park University for Arts Management, I found out that I had old injuries in my hamstrings and that at some point in time (don't know when) I had actually ripped my muscle off the bone at the ishium. The doctor told me I should probably quit dancing. I told him he was crazy and went right on dancing. There was NO WAY I was ever going to quit dancing! That's when I started going to the gym to make those muscles that were ripped off the bone stronger. The physical therapists that I was seeing finally told me that it was hopeless and released me from physical therapy. I actually did much better in making myself stronger with the weights at the gym!
Anyway, back to the pain I had....the pain caused me to quit working out completely for about 1 1/2 years. It was awful. I felt sluggish, unhealthy and moody. Plus, at age 49 1/2, if I tried to work out, it seemed so different. I used to beat my body, almost all the way through my 40's!
Now I realize that I can still work out, but I just have to take it easier on my body. I'm learning this with Beach Bodies. I gradually gained weight that entire time I was not working out at all and my clothes are tight.
I was so excited when Aaron, my coach told me about Beach Bodies that I immediately went and signed up.
Today I started the 2-day fast and after the fast I'm starting Slim n 6. I'm getting my meal plans together and I can't wait to get started. I've tested some of the workouts already, as well as Yoga Booty Ballet and I think they are the perfect workouts for my body right now and my injured muscles can handle them without pain.
Well, that's my story for now.
