My transformation story is one of coincidence. I had seen the p90x advertisement sometime in the summer of 2008. I said that looks perfect form me. Being busy in the summer working around the house, playing with the kids, and playing baseball kept me from working out. Summer is also ice cream season for me. I have been known to polish off a few banana splits a week, so you can imagine how badly I was ready to work out when I returned to school in September and started coaching football. The first week back in school I was talking with a colleague and noticed a p90x folder on his desk. I was ecstatic and wanted to know if he was doing it. I had mentioned this was the infomercial I had seen early this summer and wanted to get the program. From then I was hooked and have been working out in the morning with with two other guys usually at 6 am before school and before the kids get home. My football players and baseball players have noticed a difference in Coach Myers, not to mention my wife noticing too. You can't go wrong with results. Just to give you an idea of how great this program is and how strong it makes you, I was in my 10 week and was wondering what kind of strength I actually was gaining. So... I thought I would max out on the bench press during a lunch workout with some students. I had not benched in nearly 7 months, only push ups and and pull-ups with the p90x program. To my surprise I threw up 275lbs. More than anyone on our football team. It was something I used as a motivator to get these high school players in the weight room and start some basic principles of lifting. Needless to say I told them it was all from push ups and pull ups! I will continue to work to get stronger and stronger.......
