Since my first weight training class in high school, I have always loved working out. I love feeling strong and invincible, and I’ve always wanted to look like one of the fitness models on some of the fitness magazines I’m a regular subscriber to. The problem is that I loved to eat…and eat…and eat!

Whether it was out of boredom, stress, family celebrations, or bad choices while working and going to school, I wasn’t eating foods that were healthy and good for my body. My attitude seemed to be that I knew I couldn’t get where I would really like to be, so why bother?

While I had been changing my eating habits pretty slowly in the last couple years, my real turning point happened in January, 2009 after seeing a picture of myself from my 29th birthday in December the month before. Not only was I overweight, but I wasn’t happy! At that point my promise to myself was that while the next year would be tough, I would do whatever it took to make sure I was happier on my 30th birthday than I was the year before.

A lot has happened too! I became a Beachbody Coach so that I can help others reach their health and fitness goals, and eventually would like to become a personal trainer. So far this year, I have lost 40 lbs! More than anything, I’ve learned to let go of those things I can’t change, and make a plan of action for those things I can change!

Most importantly, I want everybody to know that fitness is for everybody! I want to see people accept their bodies as strong and capable. There are no limits, except those that we impose on ourselves!
