Davison, MI Hello, my name is David Edmonds and I am an Independent Beachbody Coach. As a person who has struggled with weight issues most of my adult life, I have tried just about every diet, exercise program or hyped up weight loss supplement that exists in a quest to get healthy and in great shape. Though I have had some short lived success with some of the things I’ve tried in the past, none of the Hello, my name is David Edmonds and I am an Independent Beachbody Coach. Though I have had some short lived success with some of the things I’ve tried in the past, none of the results were ever significant enough to keep me focused on my goals. The results were either minimal, difficult to maintain or not worth the time, effort and money I was wasting.
It was not until a good friend of mine, Jeffrey Armbruster (Spring 2009 - $10,000 Quarterly Million Dollar Body Contest Winner) introduced me to Beachbody and his phenomenal success that my life began to change. I am now well on my way to getting in the best shape of my life and although I still have a ways to go on achieving my overall goals, I am feeling better and looking better than I have in years. My wife, several friends and family members have also achieved amazing results and I am a true believer that Beachbody can change your life too.

It’s funny how time can change you. At 18 years old I was skin and bones weighing just 125 pounds and drinking weight gainer drinks daily to try and add some mass to the tiny muscles I had. Never in a million years did I think that I would turn out to be a 254 pound over weight couch potato dad at age 36…just 18 years later. I was miserable with how I had become. My gut hung out so far I couldn’t even see my shoes and it had become a real struggle just to put my socks on or tie my shoes…usually leaving me out of breath and in pain. The pain was from my lower back which constantly ached from the strain of carrying around all the extra weight around my stomach. I had gotten to a point where my back would hurt me so much that getting out of bed in the morning and standing upright sometimes took me five minutes. Then I would have to stand in a hot shower with the water beating on my back just to sooth it enough so that I could get my butt to work. The worst part of all though was that my 2 boys age 3 and 7 were suffering from what their dad had become. Because I was out of shape, I had very little energy left after a long day of work. I was also always dealing with back pains and all I wanted to do when I got home from work (and on the weekends) was lay around and relax. “Dad will you play with me?” “Not today…daddy’s tired…maybe tomorrow” I would say. But, tomorrow was never happening. Everyday I found myself trying to get out of going for a bike ride, playing catch or laying on the floor and putting together logos because I just didn’t feel up to it.
Sure I was embarrassed at how I looked. I had someone say one day that I looked like I was ready to give birth in front of a bunch of people and as much as I was hurt by the comment…deep down I knew they were right. I was also so tired of always being in pain. My biggest disappointment though had to be the fact that I was definitely not being the kind of dad I wanted to be. You would think that would have been enough to get me off my butt and make a change…but it wasn’t. I was living with excuses. “I’m too tired to work out!” “I’m too busy with work and everything else (like lying on the couch) to exercise!” And my best excuse…“My back is killing me and I just don’t feel like it!”
I had been to Chiropractors and Physical Therapy in the past with very little relief but a lot of expense. I had joined several fitness clubs over the years, tried many of the popular weight loss diets and had bought just about every “miracle” weight loss pill I could get my hands on. Sure, I had a little results from some of them but the time I was putting into them and the expenses just didn’t match any of the benefits I ever saw. So, when my friend Jeff Armbruster approached me about a year ago all excited about a new workout program, Power 90, that he had just started doing, my attitude was “good luck”, but it’s just like every other thing out there…hyped up marketing for a program where real people never really see the results promised. I figured that he would have the same lousy results that I had with everything I had ever tried over the years and I just wasn’t going to waste my time on it.
Well, 90 days flew by and when I saw the pictures of Jeff, I was amazed at how good he looked in only 90 days. Now…you would have thought that would have been enough to get me going…but oh no. I still had doubts. Sure, he looks good but it won’t last I was thinking. Jeff then moved on to P90X and by the end of that 90 days he looked GREAT!!! Now, I was kicking myself for not doing it too. He looked the way I have always wanted want to look…Slim, Tone and in Great Shape. He had energy, felt better than he ever had and I knew at that point, I could either sit around wishing I looked and felt better too or make it happen just like he did.
So I made the decision and committed to making it happen. I successfully completed, along with my wife Melissa, the Power 90 workouts. I am proud to say I have lost 26 pounds and Melissa has lost 37 pounds thanks to Power 90 and the other Beachbody products. I would also like to thank Jeff for showing me that it can be done!
I feel so much better than I did just a few months ago. I’m happier with the way I look and my energy level is way up. My back still bothers me from time to time but it is drastically better than it was and it’s feeling better day by day. Best of all, I am not lying around on the couch anymore while my boys want me to get up and play. I am out chasing them around, playing, having fun, being active in their lives and being the kind of Dad I’ve wanted to be.
I still have a little ways to go on reaching my fitness goals of being Under 200 pounds and getting in the best shape of my life but I am well on my way to getting there. We have started doing the P90X videos and we’re giving it 100%. I have also chosen to become a Beachbody coach to help others achieve their fitness goals as well. I truly believe in the Beachbody products and know they can work for you too just like they have for me, Melissa and several of our friends.
