My weight loss journey started in October 2008. After my family vacation to Galveston, I saw pictures of myself in a bikini on the beach. It was then that I realized I had gained over 25 lbs in the past 2 years. I had been eating out most of the time and could no longer fit into my clothes. I didn’t like the person I saw in the mirror and wanted to make a change.
I signed up for a gym but it only offered circuit training. Working out 3 days a week, I became bored with the routine. I wasn’t getting the results that I wanted and wasn’t feeling good about myself AT ALL!
After discussing my frustration with a friend from work, she suggested joining 24 Hour Fitness. There I began by working on different machines hoping to burn more calories and fat. Then I took different classes like Kickboxing, 24 S.E.T, Camp 24 and Cycling. That’s when I really noticed a difference.
I wanted to take my workout to a new level that would help me achieve my goal faster so I decided to sign up with a personal trainer. I knew this was a big step and a chance to create a more effective fitness routine. My personal trainer Amanda introduced me to new exercises as well as organizing a meal plan for me.
I began eating 3 small meals with a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. In just 6 weeks I went from 153 lbs to 130 lbs. I now see a thinner, happier and more energetic me. My family and friends have also noticed a positive change in me.
I would like to thank my friend for suggesting 24 Hour Fitness but most of all I would like to thank my personal trainer Amanda who gave me the knowledge and the motivation that I needed. I’m happy to know that I’m on the right track in achieving my goal of 130 lbs. I would like to encourage others to take advantage of all that 24 Hour Fitness facilities have to offer and if possible investing in a personal trainer.
