Euclid, MN I'm a 27 year old father of 4 boys. I've been in the Army National Guard for 10 years.
Through my time with Beachbody, I have come up with 3 rules that have helped me succeed. They are: 1. Don’t allow yourself to make excuses. Just get it done. 2. There is no failure as long as you try. You only fail when you don’t try, which is usually accompanied by an excuse. 3. No exceptions to these rules. I'm a 27 year old father of 4 boys. If you take these rules to heart, you will succeed in your goal. Never give up and never take no for an answer.

After my first son was born 3 years ago, my attention turned to taking care of my family, but in the process I stopped taking care of myself. In the summer of 2007 I injured my ACL and had 2 surgeries, one in December 2007 and one in February 2008. Due to a conflict with my Physical Therapist, I stopped rehab on my knee. I focused on taking care of my children and let my knee be an excuse to being lazy.
Then I started working an office job, pulling 12 hour shifts. That became another excuse to be lazy. At the time of my ACL surgery I weighed in at 185 lbs, but not much was muscle. I was a skinny fat kid, but I was ok with it since I was still skinny. Fast forward 9 months of sitting behind a desk, no exercise, and eating fast food almost every single day. Mid-January I stepped on the scale for the first time in almost a year and was appalled at what I saw: 200 lbs and 29% body fat. I looked into the mirror and for the first time I really saw what I had become. I was fat, overweight, and had no muscle. I also felt like I was one double cheeseburger away from a clogged artery. I left the bathroom and went straight to the computer to order P90X. I’m now at the lowest body fat percentage I’ve ever been. I am still digging to achieve better results, meanwhile being the best father and husband I can. Thanks to P90X and Beachbody, I now have the energy again to play with my children and do the chores around the house. My physical transformation may be what everyone sees...I am currently down to 169 lbs and 10% body fat, but the mental transformation has been amazing as well. I no longer see things I can’t do, there are only things I haven’t done yet.
