My goals are to lose weight and get fit. I want to inspire others to gain confidence in the way they look and feel. I used to love to exercise when in college, but somehow had felt in recent years that it became more work than fun. Exercise and good nutrition helps us to achieve and maintain wellness. I believe wellness is that place where I am motivated toward achieving a desired fitness level, my mind is at rest, and my Spirit feels alive because I know that exercise is a good, fun thing. Exercise can be hard, however I would like to make it as enjoyable as possible. I want to help others obtain their goals and feel the same way about themselves.
I have had battled with my weight on and off for a lot of my life. I would lose the weight and keep it off for years and then start gaining it back. I have tried different diets. This time I am making a lifetime choice through healthy eating, proper rest and a steady exercise program. What I am learning is that it is not so much about losing the weight quickly without a lot of thought about how to make proper lifestyle changes.
Donna Joyner stated in one of the Body Gospel videos, if you always do what you always have done, you will always get what you always got. A change has to be made. A decision to do differently is one thing, but the commitment to take action is where results come in!
I hope that you will join me on becoming a better you. One pound at a time. You can start by doing a moderate level of exercise that you can do. Run your race, sure someone may be able to run it faster, but go at the pace that you can. Get clearance from a doctor to find out what you can and can not do. Make small changes in your diet, such as cutting out sugar or white carbs and then progress from there. Learn how to eat healthy.
What is also helping me in this journey is my relationship with Christ. A relationship with God can motivate you to do your best, sometimes when maybe you do not feel your best. I am learning to let my strength come from my relationship with Jesus Christ. Let the Lord show you a specific plan of development to improve your life.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phillipians 4:13
