Laredo, TX Hi! I am an opera singer by training, and a voice professor by trade. I also have the Opera Singer's body at the moment and need to work on it, and now seemed to be a good time. I understand dedication and discipline. I have never been an active person, and as my wife just gave birth to our second child (who won't graduate High School until I am 60!), I figured it was time to get Hi! I have never been an active person, and as my wife just gave birth to our second child (who won't graduate High School until I am 60!), I figured it was time to get myself into shape.
I am 6'1 and when I started, I was 240 lbs. Now, I weigh 205 so am almost half way to my goal. My goals are to get my weight down to the 180 range, while putting on muscle to take the place of the fat which is here now. To work towards that goal, I chose the 10 Minute Trainer, as I don't care for exercise, but can do anything for 10 mins a day. I started slowly and am working my way up to three sessions (30 mins.) a day. I am a very positive, determined man, and welcome any positve input towards that end.
I am diabetic, Type I-- the type that produces no insulin-- so had many questions and decisions to make along the way. As such, the workup to entering the program was to see how the change in diet and exercise will impact my insuilin intake. That means that I had to have some extra Juice around for the first couple of weeks, as low bloodsugar may occur until we figure out the new dosage level to meet the new work demands.
Other than that, as you can see by my screen name, I am a totally Geeky fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, but I also have a sense of humor about it. I began in very poor shape, but determined to succeed. So far I have lost a total of 35 lbs., and have seen improvement in endurance and strength.
I have witnessed my wife, Dana, lose close to 80 lbs, and she has served as my inspiration for getting myself into shape.
I am halfway to my goal and am enjoying 10-Minute Trainer (TMT)as it can be done almost anywhere and in my limited time.
