West Allis, WI I'm a 30 year old single dad who has allowed himself to become lazy. I'm a former Marine and while I was in good shape while I was there, the best shape of my life was in High School before I went to boot camp. When I graduated, I weighed 196lbs, and I stayed that weight until I got out of the Marines. After getting out, I ballooned to 260lbs at a desk job for over a period of only 6 months I'm a 30 year old single dad who has allowed himself to become lazy. I'm a former Marine and while I was in good shape while I was there, the best shape of my life was in High School before I went to boot camp. When I graduated, I weighed 196lbs, and I stayed that weight until I got out of the Marines. After getting out, I ballooned to 260lbs at a desk job for over a period of only 6 months working 3rd shift. After leaving that job and finding some hands on work, I lost ALL of the weight I gained, then went back up to 230 and have been there ever since.
I have a membership to Bally's and I don't use it, but I have a 7x9 pool in my basement that I now use every day, moving as much water as I can while I'm in the pool. I'm motivated to turn my life around, and get back into shape, and I figured joining a group like this would be the best course of action for me.
I've decided to play Semi-Pro football this coming season, as all of my In-Laws play for the same team and they suggested I get back into it. I've had the P90X system for a few months, and have only done one workout, so this is going to be a fresh start for me. I have a great place to work out, plenty of time, and the motivation to get myself into the best shape of the last 12 years within 90 days.
My metabolism is still naturally high, and I can still eat pretty much anything and not gain weight as long as I'm slightly active. I used to be a competition swimmer, and while my technique is no longer as beautiful as it used to be, I can still swim laps and after swimming for an hour a day for a week, I lost about a pound per day. Why I didn't continue that, I will never know, but I suppose I didn't have the motivation to succeed then.
I'll never say "I Can't", because everything I've ever tried, I've eventually succeeded at. In High School, I was the guy who everyone said I wouldn't make it through boot camp. 3 months later, I was standing in my High School cafeteria in Dress Blues, with all of the previous year's Juniors standing around me asking how it was.
I'm going to do it this time, because I have to... I just quit smoking, though I still use nicotine every once in a while in the form of e-cigarettes. My lungs are thanking me... Now I need to get the rest of my body to thank me.

I have felt very sloth-like for a few years, unable to run because I smoked - using the excuse that it hurt my knees, knowing full well if I lost 30lbs, it wouldn't hurt anymore - and not motivated to work out because I couldn't see progress immediately. My goal is to start tackle football practice at the end of February, meaning I have about 2 months to get into good enough shape to do agility drills and pass the first set of mini-camps. The first game is in May, and I'll be playing my old position of Defensive End... so I need to learn balance, speed, and agility. I can't imagine a better individual training program than P90X for the things I need to learn and excel at.
