I was floundering with my workouts. It seems that the hardest part of working out was lacing up my shoes. My guess is that maybe one out of every ten workouts was rewarding. But hey, I just turned 47 years old. What did I really expect. Then I got turned on to P90X. In no time at all I was up and running doing all the moves, losing weight and getting stronger. More importantly however, I was really looking forward to my workouts. I started approaching each workout with the attitude that I wanted to surpass what I did the last time. I still don't always acheive that but the intent to do it drives me on. I've since learned all of Tony's jokes (his head weighs 600 pounds and there's not a damned thing in there.) I can do 50+ side-tri-rises, I enjoy pull-ups and push-ups, and 'old age things' seem to have gotten better. (you old guys know what I mean!.) In looking at my before and after pics, gone is the old fat-italian gut, replaced with a leaner more-cut version of myself. If that doesn't get you moving, I don't know what will.
