Well, I would have to say it has been well over 6 years since I first saw that infomercial for Power 90. I was sitting in a chair, eating junk food, and watching tv. Sounds pretty standard, right? Well, I would have to say it has been well over 6 years since I first saw that infomercial for Power 90. I was sitting in a chair, eating junk food, and watching tv. Sounds pretty standard, right? Then the infomercial...and the rest is history. Tony Horton spoke to me that day. The Success Stories spoke to me that day. I called my wife and told her I was buying the program. She said "if it makes you happy". And thus begins my long trek down a bumpy road to fitness with twists, turns, determination, triumphs, failures, and everything in between.
I am now 30 years old. I have been working out off and on since the days of P90. I still have those DVDs. I have lost weight. I have fallen off the wagon and put it back on. But the motivation is there. It is always there. I just needed to find it again. I needed to find it for my wife, who I have been married to for almost 8 years, and for my kids, now 8 and 7. I needed to do it for me! I am back at it. I am pushing play religiously.
My workout collection has grown significantly since purchasing Power 90. I now have Power Half Hour, P90X, P90 Master Series, Yoga Booty Ballet (wife's indulgence! Haha!), Slim in 6, and Insanity. My top weight has reached upwards of 285 pounds and my lowest weight has hit 215 pounds. Currently I am somewhere in between. I am pushing hard everyday. Eating healthy everyday. I have been with these programs for so long and have gotten to know so many people through the message boards. And that is why I decided that, even though I am not at my ideal weight, I could motivate others in a way I have yet to do. I became a coach. I know that helping great people and working out will make this journey last a lifetime! I am here to motivate and be motivated, to push play everyday, and to have continued success in living a fit and healthy lifestyle.
It is a commitment. It takes time. But the rush is what makes it all worthwhile. The rush of breaking through, achieving things that never seemed possible, turning 1 or 2 pushups into 20 or 30, stepping on the scale and seeing the pounds melt, wearing clothes that most of us haven't fit in to since high school, or maybe even earlier. Join me in becoming healthier, fitter, and happier! Whether it be for yourself, for your family, or for any other reason, hop on this fitness train and let's all ride together!
I may not have a sad story to tell. But you don't have to have a story like that! The past is the past and future is what YOU make of it! I am writing my story and I know how I want it to end. Here we go again. So I have been up and down in my life when it comes to working out and gaining/losing weight. As a Beachbody Coach I know I need to do better than this. I am 31 years old and will be 32 very soon. I have my goals set and my mind is set. I know what I need to do to succeed and maintain that success. I hope that my progress over these next months inspires others to join me in becoming fit and healthy for life, not just for the moment. Day one starts now, once again, but there will be no Day 90, 180, etc. There will be Day Forever! Let the games begin!
