So here's a little background info on me: I am currently a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. I teach Turbo Kick classes and a Reformer Bar class. I also have my Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Physiology. I am married and have 2 beautiful children (a son, Rylan, and a daughter, Raenna). I was always a very active child and competed in gymnastics for 10 years throughout childhood and my high school years. I became very involved in weight-lifting while in college and continued in that direction after joining the US Air Force. I worked out nearly everyday for an hour to an hour and a half lifting and running. Exercising was normal for me ever since I was little. Then suddenly life changed... I got married. And then I had kids. There went my body. What was once a normal way of life (exercise and eating healthy!) suddenly became non-existent. I stopped exercising (because I said I didn't have time) and my eating habits were horrible. I ate anything and everything in sight (which started while I was pregnant!). Comfort foods were my "drug" of choice. I would make my kids healthy meals with fruits and vegetables and protein (and very little carbs and sugars), but I was making for myself much worse meals that I wouldn't even feed my kids. I lived that way for over 5 years, steadily gaining weight and reaching my max weight of 210 pounds while pregnant with my son. I lost some of the weight after having him, but found myself pregnant with my daughter a short 7 months later and the weight came right back on...I did a little better though, only reached 205 pounds max with her! Ha! After I delivered, the baby-weight came off very slowly and and then stopped altogether leaving me at a plateau of 175 pounds (40 pounds overweight!) and I stayed there for 3 years before I couldn't take it any longer! I couldn't stand being so out of shape and overweight. The time had finally come to regain my body, my health, my LIFE! A good friend of mine introduced me to Turbo Jam, and I instantly fell in LOVE!! I started Turbo Jam in September of 2008 and loved the workouts. I had a minor set-back in October when I hurt my knee, but I got back on track by the end of November. And that's when I found out about the launch of ChaLEAN Extreme! It was right up my alley...weight-lifting, interval training, cardio...PERFECT! I bought it the minute it came out and started it in January of 2009. I religiously followed the program and nutrition guidelines for the full 90 days and found myself 30 pounds lighter by the end of the program! WooHoo! I went back to Turbo Jam for a few months (cuz I missed it soooo much! Really!!) before I decided to give P90X a try. I started P90X in August of 2009 and by the end of the 90 days, I had lost another 10 pounds! So awesome! Shortly after reaching my success, I found my passion for fitness and decided to finally put my college degree to good use. I became a certified trainer and started seeing clients, and shortly after that, I received my certification to teach Turbo Kick classes (the gym version of Turbo Jam). And I absolutely LOVE what I do!! I still workout nearly everyday and I've purchased other BeachBody products and programs to keep my interest level high. I love what I do, and I am so proud to be a BeachBody Coach! Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! I've finally found the determination and the tools to help me reach my goals! Thank you so much BeachBody and Chalene for your incredible workout programs! ChaLEAN Extreme ROCKS!! I hope to someday meet Chalene so I can show her my appreciation in person...would a big old hug be okay?? Anyway, I have lost a total of 31 pounds, 22.75 inches over my entire body, and 12.5% body fat! I am so excited and everyone is noticing the transformation. I feel so much better about myself and have so much more energy. And because of my awesome results, I've had many friends and family ask me what I've been doing and several have already started some of the BeachBody programs (like ChaLEAN Extreme, P90X, and Turbo Jam). My own mom started working out after she saw the awesome results I was getting and has already lost 30 pounds herself! It feels so good to know that I helped my mom and my other family and friends get motivated to live a healthier life-style. I notice my friends being concious of what they eat when they are around me, and it makes me proud because every little bit helps and all I want for them is to be happy and healthy. This 90 day challenge seemed like an insurmountable obstacle when I first started, but Chalene organized her program so well that making the changes and doing the workouts was a breeze...and a FUN one at that! I love my new body and I love my new found health! But I'm not stopping there...I will always workout regularly and plan to start P90X in the near future, but for now...Thanks BeachBody...I couldn't have done it without you!
