I am married, for almost 7 years now to my wonderful husband, Steve. We are high school sweethearts and do most everything together. Our biggest trial to date has been his deployment to Kuwait, however, he's home now and things are great! This past June, we had our first child- Evan James. His birth came slightly earlier than planned due to some somewhat terrifying health concerns- but, I am excited to have him and am trying to get back into fighting shape since he arrived! I enjoy being active! Over the past few years year, I have fallen in LOVE with exercise. I LOVE Turbokick, ChaLEAN Extreme, yoga, and RUNNING! Yeah, I know I never thought that I would say that, but I love running! I have run multiple races, and I am even signed up to do a Warrior Dash! I feel really good about myself because I have gotten into shape the right way. Also, exercise has brought me something else I didn't expect- FRIENDS! I have met so many amazing and wonderful people due to my new exercise routine, and made so many(hopefully) lifelong friends!

Well, I guess you could say that I have always been the tiniest bit overweight. I would never stretch to call myself fat. But, that never stopped anyone else. My sister was a slim stick figure and my parents always held me up to compare. Why didn't I look like her? Why was I "fat"? My dad even called me "The Pilsbury Dough-girl"! It was so bad that the name calling even ruined a couple of family vacations. When I was a little older, I played sports like softball and soccer, and I marched in the band so I didn't worry about strenuous exercise because I thought that I was pretty much getting it and I was for the most part. I LOVED junk food, but since I was always on the go it never caught up to me. I was 120 pounds going into my freshman year of college. At the time, I was working 2-3 jobs and going to school full-time. I had to pay tuition so I had to make it work. Most nights, I didn't get home until way after 11 and that's when I would eat dinner and do all of the homework and studying for the next day. I was totally overwhelmed and stressed and over the course of the first three years of college, I gained just about 40 pounds. Now I know that for some this isn't alot, but to me it was devistating. I was already being teased by my family and I just felt hopeless. During college, I tried several times to get into working out, but I didn't much like doing it by myself, so...it just didn't happen. Once I graduated, got married, and got a job, I thought that I would have time. My husband, Steve and I would get up at 5:30 in the morning and go to the YMCA. But, I'd lose a little and then gain it back plus a little more. My teaching job was in an urban school district and things were rough. I spent alot of extra time doing things for the kids, and my health and physical fitness suffered. This is when the big whammies started to hit. My husband is in the military and he was sent overseas for a year, and I found that after 3 years at this miserable school, I was being laid off due to levy failure. I didn't know it yet, but this was the best thing that could've ever happened to me. I got a job very quickly at a school that is just awesome! Since that was going so well, I decided that while Steve was gone, I was going to get in shape too. I went to the YMCA and asked for a personal trainer. She was awesome and gave me the support and direction that I needed to get my life back on track. My trainer, who is also my BeachBody coach, introduced me to P90X and Turbokick and I am in love! I am even went to Turbokick Camp in August of 2009! I started ChaLEAN Extreme in February of 2009, and I lost a total of 50 lbs after 2/ 90 day rounds. I am full of energy, and excitement! I have the skills and drive to get even healthier, and keep pushing play all thanks to all of the obstacles, triumphs, and new friends. I am now a Beachbody Coach and am more motivated than ever! Join me and my team to "End the Trend"!
