Portage, MI A 37 year old husband and father of three great kids, the better part of my life had been spent physically active with sports and the Army. After multiple deployments, civilian life and corporate America beckoned, leading to a much more sedentary life. The weight piled on, but I was at least still in some semblance of shape. After multiple deployments, civilian life and corporate America beckoned, leading to a much more sedentary life. The weight piled on, but I was at least still in some semblance of shape. Then I started graduate school full time while still holding a full time job. Needless to say, that two years was brutal, and the weight just piled on. Looking at my graduation photos and having no energy was motivation enough to get to me to work.
During the two years of school, P90X infomercials played every Saturday morning, greeting us as we took breaks from class. Everyone talked about it, but no one actually did it. I figured it was all hype anyway, so why spend the money? Well, looking at myself after graduation, I knew I HAD to do something. So, I sought out someone at work who mentioned they had tried P90X. They lent me the book and a DVD to review. Deciding that I didn't want to die at 36 working out in the basement, I browsed through the BeachBody website and found Power 90. The reviews looked pretty good, so I figured what the heck; let's see what this is all about. I'm so glad I did. While the diet is still a challenge for me, working out has become much more routine and I actually miss it when I'm forced to skip. Whenever possible, the DVD's go with me on vacation, business trips or other travels away from home! Beachbody has made it more work trying to find an excuse to NOT workout, and I have absolutely no regrets for taking the leap of faith to try it.

After I finished grad school, I was determined to get myself back into shape. The fat guy in the mirror was not who I wanted to be and had no energy to chase three little ones around.
I got started with Power 90, but convinced myself that I didn't need any supplements. As out of shape as I was, the first 15 pounds came off pretty easy, but after 6 weeks, as I switched to level 3-4, I found myself getting sore and tired. So, the excuses started and I reduced my intensity. I still managed to lose 23 pounds before the holidays, and then I went into stagnation. Keeping the commitment was a challenge.
After some family health issues throughout the spring and a start-stop workout routine, I "re-committed" myself. So in June, I started taking Peformance Formula and Strength and Muscle Men's Formula. What a difference. This time I've maintained the workout discipline, though my diet hasn't held out as much hope. The increased metabolism has me hungry ALL the time (and working at a major food company doesn't help when you get the munchies). And though my weight has been flat, I have reduced my body fat about 3 percent in just 50 days! I've lost almost 1.5" in my waist, but I've added over an inch to each of my biceps! I can live with that.

08/15/12 So a supplier came in and took us to lunch today at a bit of a greasy dive...but, I managed to find a Club Salad with low fat dressing and water. That managed to keep my calorie intake below More ... 08/14/12 Another good day--though it starts rough with Plyo Legs. It absolutely smokes me everytime.
