Although I have always been an active person (sports through grade & high school, gym rat, workout DVD collector..), I never was content with my body. I struggled with anorexia for a few years at the end of high school/beginning of college. I slowly began to recover and gain more weight. As the next few years passed, I continued to gain weight, but was still very insecure about my body. Along with this insecurity, I suffered with panic attacks (which now I know was, and am being treated for, Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I only did "safe" workouts (elliptical for 30 min, pilates DVD in my dorm, etc) in case a panic attack struck. I never really challenged myself. My junior year of college, I ordered Turbo Jam. I started lifting weights and toning up, and started to feel better about myself. With much support from family and friends, I was able to manage my anxiety. Now, almost a year after graduating college, I ordered ChaLEAN Extreme, a truly difficult and challenging (mentally and physically) program. I am seeing AND feeling changes in my body already!! Also, I am more mentally sound - my workouts allow me to rid myself of any anxieties. I feel like I can do anything now - anything is possible! My ongoing battle with food seems to have ended; I naturally want to eat healthy and eat enough so that I have fuel for my workouts. I am absolutely happy with myself now and am so excited to start each ChaLEAN workout; also, I'm excited to take on other physical endeavors; I ran the St. Jude Half Marathon this winter (2009) & finished the whole thing, without any training - ChaLEAN will make you mentally tough, too:) I hope that my story can help others get motivated to get fit; and, I want others to love themselves and to treat their bodies healthily and with respect. Beachbody programs and its community of coaches and members can change lives. Just ask for it, and you will receive the support you need. EVERYONE is worth it, and EVERYONE can do this. Be healthy.
