I know our diets/nutrition and fitness routines can often be compromised because of our busy schedules. But you CAN be healthier, no matter where you are right now in your fitness goals.

My story isn't unique, but rather a problem of inconsistency
that I feel many people in our fast paced culture
experience. I bounced around from one workout to another,
but could never seem to make anything stick. Despite
stomach problems I didn't have the time or money to keep
tabs on my diet and nutrition and I found my energy lacking,
making it even harder to stay active. I needed to get my
life balanced and that meant taking a step back to see what
wasn't working. What I found was that I wasn't leaving
enough time for me to take care of ME and customize a
fitness routine that fit my unique lifestyle.

I decided to get serious about my health and I started with
a clean diet as a vegan for eight months. My lighter, more
nutrient filled diet gave me more energy and forced me to
learn about nutrition in greater detail than ever before.
Still I'm not one to give up cheese and bread, so I slowly
began introducing dairy and even some fish back into my
diet. I felt great! Seeing the success in just a healthier
diet, I approached my workout problem. How to find extra
time in the day though? How to stay interested? I joined a
gym and started attending classes at different times of the
day to see what worked best with my schedule. Turns out, the
best way to find time, was to MAKE time, in the morning
before work when I had no distractions. My health mentors
kept me motivated through the first 30 days, which was the
hardest part. Once I established that workout time as part
of my usual routine, my remaining task was to keep my
workouts interesting. By challenging myself with new
programs, workout videos from Beachbody, and joining a
spinning class, I had my answer.

Now, I coach friends when they want to adopt healthier
habits, manage their weight, or just need new workout ideas.
I'm studying for my personal training certification as well,
so I gain further expertise so I can motivate other people
through some of the same obstacles I faced. For the FIRST
time in my life, I'm comfortable with my body and I don't
stress about weight, food, or working out.
