As a teenager, I could eat anything I wanted! Peanut butter cups were daily favorites! I was always thin, and didn't think much of my weight.
I am now a proud mom of 6 beautiful children! After my first was born (I was barely 21) I still had no problem losing the 42 lbs. that I had gained. When my second was born, 2 years later, I held on to a few of the 42 lbs that I had gained with her. As a teenager, I could eat anything I wanted! Peanut butter cups were daily favorites! I am now a proud mom of 6 beautiful children! After my first was born (I was barely 21) I still had no problem losing the 42 lbs. that I had gained. When my second was born, 2 years later, I held on to a few of the 42 lbs that I had gained with her. I had a 5 year break before my 3rd was born. My last 4 children were born within 5 1/2 years of each other! I still gained a lot of weight with each of them - about 35 lbs each time. My metabolism had given out on me! I just didn't lose the weight that I gained with each of these pregnancies!
I always had an excuse why I couldn't lose weight. I was pregnant, or nursing, I didn't have the time (or energy or desire). So, when my baby turned 1 in March of this year (2007), and finished nursing shortly after that, I really had no excuses! It was time to face the music and do something about those extra "baby pounds"!
My husband called me in as he watched TV one day. He wanted me to see the "Slim in 6" info-mercial. My response was, "Hmm. Interesting." I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to see it show up on my door step soon after! I was a little annoyed at first. (I like to do things on MY time!) I read through the info in the box. It was all interesting, but I just knew I didn't have an hour to work out each day, and, honestly, I've never enjoyed working out! But the more I read, the more I liked what I read! "I could do this." I thought. I decided I would do this. "After all, I can do anything for 6 weeks," I thought. I also knew I needed a plan, and couldn't just jump into it -- that would be a recipe for failure! So I spent a few weeks just reading, planning meals, and getting ready for my 6 week journey! I decided that June 18th, 2007, would be my day.

**Edit** I decided to leave my story below and just add an edit. I am starting a new round of Slim In 6. I went from the best shape of my life after P90X to doing nothing when my hubby came home from Afghanistan. Time to lose the weight again and gain the muscle again!
As I began my journey to health and fitness, I really didn’t intend on it being a journey at all! I had never been one to enjoy exercise, but it was time to shed the pounds that had come from having 6 children. I figured if I just lost the weight, maintaining it would be easy. “So,” I thought, “I can do anything for 6 weeks!” Slim in 6 is was! What I wasn’t prepared for, the thing that totally caught me off guard, was that I started to enjoy my work out time – I was enjoying exercise! As the weight came off, I began to develop a confidence that was never there before! Oh, it wasn’t all easy! Having 6 kids, my “me” time is very limited. Some days it was really hard to push play. There were always things I could have been doing instead of exercise, but I had decided and committed to give myself this hour a day.
Eating right was difficult too. We were a family of quick and convenient. Macaroni and cheese and pizza were weekly meals at our house! I had to stock our fridge and shelves with fruits and veggies, whole grains, and non-fat dairy. My kids thought I was nuts! Salad became a staple! I overcame my cravings (addiction!) for simple carbs and sugar by starting with a 2 day fast, and continuing to eat well.
As I successfully completed Slim in 6, I was amazed at my transformation; physically, emotionally, mentally, even spiritually. I found myself wanting to do more for myself. I wanted to keep working out. I wanted to continue to eat right. I wanted to do it not only for myself but for my family. A healthy mom was the best gift I could give my children and husband! I found I wasn’t as tired as I had been. I could carry my kids up the stairs without becoming winded. I could jump with them on the trampoline. I had more energy to keep up with them and the demands of being a mom of 6! Mentally, I knew I could do anything I set my mind to. I felt invincible! I was strong! Spiritually, it felt good to take care of this body that I am so fortunate to have! I gained a new appreciation for the health I had been taking for granted!
While my initial intentions were to do Slim in 6 and nothing more, I knew I couldn’t stop, and more importantly, I didn’t want to stop working out! I continued with Slim in 6, a bit of P90X, and got a lot of use out of my treadmill!
This past May, I had the honor of going to L.A. to interview for the new Slim in 6 infomercial! What an amazing experience that was!! Meet Debbie Siebers brought life into perspective. She was so amazing and down to earth! She also filled us in on the fact that the Slim Series was created to be the follow up to Slim in 6!
When I got home, I took my committment to a new level! I ordered Slim Series right away! I also committed to helping others become the best they can be by becoming a coach. If I can help even one person have the same great success I have had, it will be worth it!
I am loving the Slim Series! I will continue that until mid August, when I start P90X - getting ready for my vacation with hubby! R&R for him! It will be the first time I have seen him since April, and this bod will be ready!!
