KINGSTON, MO I am a 59 years old, newly divorced with two grown sons. I work full time twelve hour, nights as an RN in the ED and ICU. I have worked out consistently for 30 years, but my weight has crept up despite this. Although I'm within 15 pounds of my high school weight, I felt heavy and unhappy about this. Although I'm within 15 pounds of my high school weight, I felt heavy and unhappy about this. I felt I'd become bored with my workout routines and needed help there, and, since it is just me at home, my nutrition had slipped quite a bit, so I was looking for some good nutrition help. I am maintaining my weight and strength and keeping my osteoarthritis in check since doing this program for the past 3 years or so. I'm always challenged and never bored with all the routines available and recommend it to all my friends.

Who would have believed that I would have finished two rounds of P 90 X and am into week 4 of the third round? Although I haven't reached my goal of losing 10 pounds, I think I made that up in gaining muscle weight. I never thought that I would win anything by logging on, but won $1,000 within the first month! Of course, that gave me the impetus to keep pushing play, but, I didn't expect that any dramatic changes would show up (not enough to win $10,000 or the grand prize of $250,00--after all, I wasn't that far off my ideal weight!)
However, I was very surprised that just the amount of weight I lost, and body fat, improved my labs (I was a gestational diabetic and have been fighting going into type II diabetes). Despite this, on 9/20/07 my cholesterol was 197, tryglycerides 61, HDL 59; LDL 126 with a ratio of 3.34 and blood sugars within normal--all this with being borderline hypothyroid), I have osteoarthritis and I thought some of the exercises would aggravate this (they haven't and I think my joints have actually improved). I had been doing Body for Life for several years, but think that the routine (3 days weights, same workout, 3 days aerobics--often the same workouts), let me into a plateau that suddenly started climbing.
I am stronger--which is so needed in my job as a bedside RN where I'm often lifting and turning obese patients, and I'm far from reaching a plateau I think. Coming off the "recovery" week, I know I'm going to be stressing those muscles all over again!
What's next for me? I think I'd love to coach. I think it would be wonderful to help do something to combat this obesity epidemic which is one of the factors that land so many of my patients into the ICU. Thanks to Beach Body and Million Dollar Body for helping me find the way!
January 16, 2008: Well, a long with everyone else, the holidays took a toll on my weight. I gained two pounds, but the good news is that I have become a coach, ordered the bonus pack and will be checking out a bunch of new exercise videos! I hope to trim back to 115# at least, but this will depend on my muscle buildup, so I will be checking the way my clothes fit more than anything.
August 10, 2008: I continue to work at P 90X,but have added Turbo Jam, and One on One with Tony into the mix as well as days I treadmill or row or both. My weight is 117# and I'm feeling better than ever. Look for an updated photo and measurements. 56 is feelin' good!
November 3, 2008: 116# and holding. Now doing 1 on 1 with Tony in the mix but primarily P90X. Feeling better than ever. Ordered Type II and You to share with my diabetic patients.
