I have always been a fairly active, healthy person. Growing up, I was terribly unathletic, but found plenty of ways to exercise and get my body moving. But when I got pregnant, I was terrified that it was going to ruin my body. Well, I had the baby, and I went from a size 6 to a size 12. My incredibly resilient stomach bounced back very quickly, but my ever stubborn lower half was a bit more of a problem. In about two months I went down from a 12 to an 8, and then it took me another couple months from that to get back into my size 6. However, even though I was in the same size, my body didn't look the same as it had before. The muscle tone was gone and there was just a little too much jiggle. So I committed to exercising regularly again and started with Turbo Jam. Usually when I start exercising again after a long period of not doing so, there's that short period at first where it's kind of painful, you kind of don't want to do it...but not with Turbo Jam. It was so much fun! I instantly loved Chalene's energy, enthusiasm, and fun cardio workouts. For the next several months I did a lot of Turbo Jam interspersed with other exercise DVDs, Spinning, and weight lifting. In that time I also learned about Yoga Booty Ballet which was perfect for me, so I purchased that and added Gillian and Teigh's workouts into the rotation. All of this helped me to get my pre-baby body back. Actually, I ended up being about 10 pounds lighter! But in that same year some stuff happened in my life that just kind of derailed me from the routine I'd gotten in, and I fell out of exercising regularly. I went from 5-6 days a week to 1-3 days a week, and I stopped cooking healthy meals at home all the time. Well, come August 2010 and I recommitted to treating my body like a temple again. Armed with a new program, Brazil Butt Lift, I'm working on finally sculpting my lower body into the shape I've always wanted. I'm currently seeing small changes that are really motivating and I love the workouts and the food plan!
