The day that I got married (08/22/04) I weighed 172 lbs and retained around 6% body fat. I was very active in my boxing workout and spent at least 30 minutes per day on my bowflex XLT. When I wasn't working out you could find me on a wakeboard, mountain bike or on the sand-volleyball courts. My diet was mainly vietnamese food and I ate alot of chicken and eggs over rice with plenty of hotsauce.
On my 1st wedding anniversary (08/22/05) I was sitting at 207 lbs. By far the heaviest I had ever been and my body fat rose to 16%. I hadn't worked out in 8 months and was eating nothing but pasta, potatoes, bread, and whatever else my wife wanted to cook on a nightly basis. See, she is a vegitarian with an extremely high metabolism. She was 25 years old, 5'-5" and weighed about a buck-fifteen. My body couldn't handle her diet, but I continued to go along with it until today.
I work in an office behind a desk for 8 hours and spend 2-hours each day commuting. After sitting on my rear for a minimum of 10 hours, I am hardly prepared to start working-out for an hour when I get home.... But... As I watch my spare tire become more inflated daily, I realize that it's about time to draw the line.
Here I am. 30 years old, more out of shape than ever before and lacking in self confidence.
My wife and I just found out that we are expecting our first child. After a short celebration, I told myself that I had only one chance to make a first impression on my little one. :) I am currently working out with Tony Horton and the P90X system... whata killer workout! But I love it!
