I have been exercising most of my life and have been in great shape with moderate effort. Since I had children it has been a little harder being consistent with exercise and now that I am "over 40", my metabolism has come to a screaching halt. My biggest hurdle is diet. I eat a very healthy diet 95% of the time. My problem is caloric intake. I have never been a small eater. I also hate special diets because of the difficulty in fitting them into my schedule and my family's lifestyle. I had been doing Turbo Jam for a couple of years to stay in shape but without consistency and the diet I wasn't seeing the results. I decided to try P90X in January 2009 to get ready for a trip to Aruba. I followed the program, with the exception of the diet, faithfully for 6 months, 6 days a week. Although I was in much better shape than I was when I started, I should have been in great shape! I didn't loose a pound. I know that muscle is heavier than fat but I still should have dropped a size or two in clothing following that routine. I went on another vacation in August with my children this time and since then I have been struggling to do the time and I am back to where I was before I started in January. Now that I haven't been lifting, I have been experiencing muscle fatigue in my arms. I have joined Team Beachbody because I decided I can longer to this by myself. I need help!
